I use Easy Voice. It's one of the top rated recording apps, and it's worked well for me.

Definitely read The Emperor's Soul. It's a standalone novella set on the same planet as Elantris, and one of Brandon's more artistic books. Beautifully crafted story, interesting magic, great characters, all that good stuff. If you want to try some non-Cosmere, pick up Steelheart. Though in my opinion it's not quite on par with his Adult Fiction, it's still excellent. I've also heard good things about Rithmatist, but I have yet to get around to reading it, as it always seems to be checked out at the library. I should probably just buy it...

In the order in which they popped into my head: -Brandon Sanderson, of course -Terry Pratchet -Tolkien -CS Lewis (Not so much Chronicles of Narnia, but The Great Divorce, Screwtape Letters, and his various essays are excellent) -Shakespeare -JK Rowling -Orson Scott Card I'll add more if any come to mind.

From what I understand, "mandate" is Confused's term for what we generally call Intent, although he seems use different words for a Shard's Intent as compared to its mandate.

Interesting, I like that. So would I be working with a hypersphere, where ach of the "faces" is a spheres, correct? So everything is centered around one 4D "planet", orbiting a 4D "sun" in 4D space, and each 3D slice of space gives you a hyperplane which appears to include a 3D planet, a 3D sun, and 3D stars. Mages are then able to pivot within the fourth dimension to allign themselves with another face/hyperplane, which would basically be an entirely new world. Looks like I'll need to do more in-depth research into the subject to get deeper into the implications of this, but I really like where this is going.

(Disclaimer: I have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about. Feel free to correct anything I say. If I'm spouting nonsense, put a stop to it at once and set me right.) I post this here because I think it would be really cool to build a world/magic system around the concept, but I'm running into some issues. I want to know if it's even possible for a world to appear and behave like our own, while still allowing room for feats like those shown in the trailer above. As far as I can tell, pivoting in 4D and moving into another hyperplane really wouldn't be a good idea if you're living on a 3D planet imbedded in a 4D universe. You'd just end up in space, right? Space in another hyperplane, but space nonetheless. Unless there's some way you could line up with another planet in the hyperplane you orient yourself to. Is that even possible? Am I thinking about this all wrong? I should probably stop taking now, before I hurt someone...

^This. I was just about ready to type up a massive rant to rebuff LeftVash and Kobold's statements, and then I found that Twi had already done so, and far more eloquently than I would have myself. I love Monster's Inc. It's wildly creative, and brilliant, and amazing. But honestly, I feel that Inside Out's simple, unexpected and incredibly powerful messages bring it onto a higher level. Yes, it is different. Different is good. That's what Pixar does. The reason films like Up and Inside Out stand out to me is because of the way they teach such unexpected yet important truths.
