  1. Direct access to a princedom should be worth something, or?
  2. My guess is she is not, and Mraize just managed to get in charge of her network, which as a real Ghostblood should be very easy for him :-) EDT: wording
  3. That is really worrying, this apparently deep affection those two show. I now think, Ialai is deep in mourning and suffering badly. That makes her much more dangerous, than I previously thought. A scheming person would have been something much more rational.
  4. That is really worrying, this apparently deep affection those two show. I bet, Ialai is suffering badly, just out of sorrow; that makes her much more dangerous, than I previously thought. EDT: moved to seperate topic
  5. But nobody is foolish-oath-proof; taking a foolish oath might lead to indescribable horror, and the person who took the oath could avoid the horror by "just" abandoning the oath. Convenience does not come into account here in my view. Besides: One might view the succession of oaths as the main check, the Radiants do put on honor. Earlier given oaths might be viewed as more important as later ones, they keep the next oaths in check somehow :-) EDT: Typofix
  6. Of course there might be incompatible actions needed to be honorable all the way through. I am absolutely sure that stepping back from Radiancy was a very very very difficult decision, but it might well have been honorable. Of course I am thinking of the Trolley Problem. You might just kill people, despite acting honorable. Just honor might not be enough.
  7. But you are judging him as if he was acting on our earth, in our universe. How are Evil/Good even defined in the cosmere? Or even in Roshar? Are there shards or intents which are considered "good", and others which are considered "evil"? Is there a "good relative to my intent" or "evil relative to my intent" for each Shard and its sphere of influence? Or should we introduce the "god beyond" right here, just to define good and evil? Ok, yeah, I am deviating ... :-D
  8. The Diagram quote states the opposites as "Dalinar is warlord" and "Dalinar seeks peace". You state, that the latter is equivalent to "Dalinar is politician". I think you are wrong here. Have an upvote! In the end it might turn out, that honor left unchecked leads to as much evil as hatred.
  9. You made me *ROTFL*, have an upvote :-)
  10. I am convinced he did not kill the child, but let it and its mother go with an order to keep silent. Somebody already pointed out, that on the one hand Dalinar said: and AFTERWARDS Dalinar thinks: What could this be, that he is afraid of Gavilar finding out, if not that he let the child go?
  11. Actually, in a certain way he was quite likable right from the beginning. His men followed him and apparently worshipped him; he was generous. He only was totally focused on winning the game he was playing, which involved an improbable amount of killing ... :-/
  12. Naa, fear not! Sadeas was the one who wanted to rape a random young woman in the first interlude, thats not something I see Dalinar doing now. So Sadeas was the same bastard right from the beginning. It's just that Dalinar fell from his good grace.
  13. Welcome the latest Stormlight spin-off: Pornlight!
  14. Took me some time to get this ... then i lolled REALLY LOUD
  15. Naa, thats all awesome, but its nothing else than "Kaladin Business as Usual". Kaladin with a small umbrella on the other hand .... THATS something you won't see too often ....
  16. Always keep the POV in mind! The 100 comes from Szeths estimates, and mathematical precision is not something important to him.
  17. I think not: its 10 tiers with 18 levels each, ie 180 levels; I think Szeth just didnt bother counting ....
  18. Plleeease can somebody better suited than me draw this? Kaladin, standing in the rain in a god-forsaken spot protecting his maps with a small umbrella! *ROTFL*
  19. And exactly 35 seconds after this post people all over the world laughed out loud ...
  20. Please ignore if that was meant ironically, but stormform does not bring the ability to shoot lightnings, but just the ability to call the everstorm ... and as others before me already hinted, "calling the everstorm" has only to be done once. I think I was wrong here, back to rereading ... Anybody besides me thinks that it is damnation inconvenient for the Parshendi to be caught in the stormform now and not being able to transform until the next highstorm comes? Team KR being out of stormlight, too... seems the big war is stalled for the time being :-D EDT: Typo and last sentence added EDT2: Stroke out the first paragraph, I might have been wrong here ... (who needs READERS as long as one can talk to one self ..) EDT3: You all are fidgets of my imagination anyway ...
  21. Yepp, it definitively is this! Just checked Unfettered II: EDT 2: Inserted Spoiler Tags, sorry!!
  22. I think there is much more going on than "Everstorm passes" => *BAMMM* => "1 million thunderclasts rise and march for Odium" What if the Everstorm just makes parshmen to parshendi in dullform again. This might be a starting point for more dangerous forms of voidbringers, but it is JUST a starting point. It might be, that the now rather plain parshendi need the highstorms again to transform. Perhaps they just all started moving eastward? [typofixes]
  23. I don't think that Lirin/Hesina are able to actually SEE Syl -besides in her form as shardweapon-, so how can she introduce herself?
  24. Perhaps they are not just yet on war path; perhaps the everstorm just triggers the transformation from parshmen to parshendi dull form, and only the next highstorm triggers the next step ...
  25. The pure crystal voice ... I am on boat with Havoc (commented at Tors) that this ist Tien.
