  1. I like the idea that Odium's investiture builds up berween desolations. Perhaps Heralds in Braize syphon some of this investiture to heal their wounds, and this is why this desolation was different: Only one herald wasn't enough to prevent five thousand years of build-up, unleashed in the form of a new storm.
  2. This... makes no sense. I think you mean light brown and dark brown.
  3. Ops, I read misting by accident...
  4. Actualy, a pewter ferring eould have no problem at all, since allomantic pewter adds its strenght to yours, like a set of ghost muscles moving along your own, while feruchemical pewtwer gives you more muscle mass.
  5. Elhokar is not a POV character. Or is he?
  6. Maybe duraluminium stores "relationship weight", a hipothetical spiritual attribute that multiplies the value of your connections.
  7. Denth?
  8. Actualy, Roshar is full of life, with rockbuds rollin around, vines hidding behind hills, grass in holes in the rock and cremlings crawling behind stones. Plus, even if you were to use a desert and then put the plants there, most barren locations on earth aren't just bare rock like Roshar.
  9. Were there? The only hints greatshells were involved in the battle are the purple blood in the Kalak chapter and wrong suppositions made by people who had never seem a thunderclast.
  10. So it was supposed to be biblical? The english translation is weird.
  11. Sorry. English is not my native language, and I am writing on my smartphone, so it is harder to double check before posting.
  12. I think it just means Tanavast was a math geek . I mean, simmetry, cymathics, 2D shadows of 3D cuts of 4D mathematical constructs...
  13. Jasnah killed those thugs in cold blood when she could have just disarmed then by soulcasting their weapons. Dalinar was once a terrifying warlord. Shallan killed her parents. And yet, they are all Radiants. I doubt Adolin is going to become evil because of impulsively killing an admited threath to his family, princedom and nation that claimed the lifes of thousands in his last strike. Plus, Adolin is a deeply caring man, who loves his brother and is more likely to be proud of him. I mean, if he was okay with Kaladin being a Radiant, he will accept Renarin as one as well.
  14. I don't think so, first because it would mean the first humans were ridiculously powerful and some thousands of years down the line humanity won't be even sentient. Plus, some WoBs( I won't quote because I am on mobile, sorry) that say that a sentient robot would just pull in enough ambient investiture to sustain ist sentience and that say there is an afterlife and an after-afterlife hint that after you die there is some grace period and after that your soul gets recicled to make new beings and your mind winds up somewhere else.
  15. I meant what she did was equally dark no matter if they were assassins or not, not that what she did was as dark as what Adolin did. I believe what she did was darker. Just making it clear, since in the end I was not sure if it was too ambiguous.
  16. Uh, Rosharan years are only 10% longer. Not sure where you pulled the Kaladin jumping from 19-20 to 23 from, Honorspren
  17. Actualy, Rosharian eyears are of 500 days( two years for a full weeping circle). And their days are shorter, of about 20 hours, althought that infornation is not in the books.
  18. Even if they were assassins she could have just turned their weapons into fire or just turned the first to move into a statue and let the others run. Assassins or not, it is equally dark. EDIT: Storming mobile keyboard.
  19. Characters I disliked? Well, I am not really a hateful person, so most of this characters are ones I find interesting and even like but did things I deeply disagree with. Jasnah: She could have soulcast the thugs' weapons into fire, could have created a wall in front of then, could have simply not walked into a dark alleyway covered in glowing gemstones... But she killed them all to teach Shallan a lesson. Vin and Kelsier: They are cool, but I am not really into bloodthirsty protagonists. Vasher: caused many, many, unnecessary deaths, some by his own hand, because he didn't like the idea of revealing he was a god and them disappearing in the night. Like he did in the end. Nightblood: do you want to destroy some evil today? No. Lift: she is extremely interesting. Except when she tries to be funny. Lopen: Please, stop bringing your cousins into Bridge Four, Dalinar wanted you as bodyguards because he feared spies. Also, try to not overuse your jokes gancho. Hoid: humor isn't one of Brandon's strenghts, that is for sure. Shallan: see above. Also, hating Amaram because he killed your brother in a battlefield, where he had much more justification than Jasnah had for killing those thugs? At least Amaram does deserve to be looked down upon, so all is forgiven. Now the one and only character I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE Stick. May he forever BURN!
  20. Actualy, in WoR a epigraph says The worlds you now tread bear the touch and design of Adonalsium.
  21. Odium is not bound to the oathpact in the way one is bound to an oath, but in the way one is bound to a prision. Important distinction.
  22. I, as a Renarin fan, smiled upon reading this. However, while he can be analytical about things like his father's visions(really, telling Dalinar that there may be a way of testing the visions may have been be the most important point in Dalinar's path to radianthood), Renarin is anything but calm during a dangerous situation, often making things worse in a misguided attempt to help(chasmfiend, arena). This also convinces me that part of his journey towards full radianthood will be learning when to stand down and when to step up.
  23. Truthwatchers are associated with the divine attributes of "learned" and "giving", so...
  24. I believe Honor cares more about enforcing honor and "social simetry" than about being honorable himself, just like Preservation was allowed to be self sacrificial all the time to preserve Scadrial. Of course, I still don't think he would try to destroy mankind.
