  1. Szeth. Vin already got the final peaceful rest, while for Szeth, it was only the beggining of the true madness.
  2. I see. I guess I am really a INTP then, but one who cares a little more than the steorotypal INTP about other people... from a safe distance of course...
  3. I wouldn't say he will ever be able to banish the guilty and psychological damage he caused to himself, or that he should. But I do think his "rebirth" could allow him to live with the guilt without being crushed by it. Or it could allow him to make the same mistakes .
  4. The problem is that Renarin is so light in the autism spectrum he is closer to you fidgeting something than someone with stronger autism using a stim. Actualy, at the point he is, his autism is more like a couple of quirks and personality traits.
  5. You get Kabsal! Or his cognitive shadow. Sorry. *inserts this very thread*
  6. Can someone please explain to me how INFPs think? Most of the tests I take seem unsure if I am an INTP or INFP, but the definition of the first seems closer to me. I just wanted to be sure if I got my type right.
  7. Yeah, I meant happiness. Althought when I am on depression it doens't really seems like something that is actualy real. A feeling of purpose and happiness are not the same thing, but depression does drain both away, and while "fun" is still possible it feels empty by the end of day. Feeling like you acomplished something however, leaves a more lasting sensation. I thank whoever is up there listening for not making my depression last forever.EDIT: Mckeedee, while I am an INTP, not an INTJ, and my current religious position is... imprecise, I can say that I often feel the same way about trying to find a way of warding of the nihilism. For some people, the momentary joys of the material life aren't enough, for they were built to search for something more, something eternal and true. Something that may not even exist.
  8. I have to say WoK. The struggle felt more personal to Kaladin and Dalinar, Lirin was there, the conspiracies and hidden powers seemed more distant and unreachable, the spren more mysterious. And I dislike the way Szeth and Renarin were handled in WoR. EDIT: Not to say I disliked WoR. Shallan and Adolin gained more space and perhaps agency, something they really needed. If only Pattern had stayed creepy and the Stormfather divine...
  9. Weird. When depression forces me into nihilism I usualy come to the conclusion that fun is irrelevant. Sometimes I also have some stray thoughts considering if it is better to be happy or to leave your mark and look good while doing it.Ruin, I hate nihilism.
  10. Human... listens to Hoid tell a story about a brown tree and a pile of ash and gives up in confusion.
  11. If we are talking about ships that will never happen, but totaly should, how about Renarin and Marasi?
  12. You are assuming we have to discover who is Trell by the end of W&W. In fact, the nature of the bigger enemy may be left in shadow until the third era.
  13. So, do we know if this thread will actualy get deleted?
  14. Only as long as it is passed down to an antagonist somewhere across the line, just like many Wax&Wayne antagonists have paralels to Kelsier.
  15. Do we really need another "Lord Mistborn" incident? She is talented, intelligent and holds an important position among Eledel constables. She should focus on the things she has and the ones she can improve, she does not need any magical power-up.
  16. But wouldn't the confusion enhace the randomness?
  17. You think the Unkalaki are animals?! Airsick lowlander.
  18. "Death is my life, the strenght becomes my weakness, the journey has ended." -Dated Betabanes, 1173, 95 seconds pre-death. Subject: a scholar of minor renown. This death rattle is one of the more curious ones in my opinion, since it does not seem to alude to any particular event or to prophecise anything, instead being strutured as a parody of the First Ideal. But what does it mean? I believe the rattle is about Szeth's death, going by my personal interpretation of the three parts of the statement, and the idea that it isn't an anti-oath, but a statement of failure and potencial rebirth. Death is my life: Szath's life as a truthless was one of blood and death and a slow destruction of himself, culminating in his rebirth through death. Strenght becomes my weakness: this means his greatest virtues were turned against him. His devotion to his beliefs made him blind, and his compassion made his dark deeds wear down his sanity. And it may happen again, under his new master. The journey has ended: he died. The old Szeth is but ashes, and he is starting a new journey, wich can lead him anywhere, including back through the same road he walked as a truthless.
  19. Since TLR put the southerners where they are and decided to not alter their biology, it is assumed he also managed to limit them somehow so they wouldn't advance enough to threaten his Empire in the north.EDIT: Currently, my favorite theory is that he trapped them underground with a great cadmium bubble "fabrial". It would also explain how they discovered mechanical allomancy.
  20. For this half baked thery of mine, I am assuming it was said to the boys their mother died in an accident. If the body was too damaged, it would be possible for cremation to be seem as a more respectful option compared to preserving the damaged remains for eternity.
  21. And there is the question of what happened to her corpse. Rich lighteyes generaly soulcast their dead to stone, but we have no mention of her statue. Perhaps whatever killed her also disfigurated her. Or it was too shameful to be remembered.Perhaps it was because Dalinar Kholin would rather forget who killed his wife. Because he could never forgive the man who did it. Because he could not find peace while that man was alive. Because he would sooner forget his wife than live knowing he was her murderer. Dalinar's boon was to forget everything. Dalinar's curse was to forget everything. The Nightwatcher gave him only what he needed and deserved.
  22. Or Navani, for that matter. Not sure if she counts as enough of a Kholin for that kind of discussion.
  23. Actualy, we only know it takes place after SA2. Brandon has not divulgated the precise timing and may be unsure.
  24. Per WoB, Hoid used to a human. Now, it depends on how you see it. I'd quote it, but I'm on mobile. My personal theory is that Hoid's (over)use of different magics and hacking of his spiritweb changed his body and soul in a fundamental way, like a much more extreme version of what happens to tin savants. In short, I theorize Hoid's body is more investiture than flesh by now.
