  1. The only thing i can think of is that people are mis-remembering this WoB.
  2. For anyone wondering why this was posted here - there are Dalinar flashback chapters from Oathbringer that can be found exclusively in this collection.
  3. Not "long enough for legends to develop", the quote is "just long enough for legend to develop". This heavily implies it was recent, especially when given to the reader in such an off hand remark. That passage meaning anything else would only serve to confuse casual readers.
  4. Don't worry about it, i've done the same before
  5. Yup, my wording intentionally pointed that out ("that portion").
  6. Axies said the Scouring wasnt long ago It is almost surely an Unmade or at least a Odiumspren trapped in there. Honor and the Heralds were at least part of why Odium is trapped, and the Aimians were not a part of that portion.
  7. No idea. That fourth island doesnt seem to exists on the map in the books (it looks drawn by whoever asked the question). The arrow is pointing at a place called "Dawn's Shadow".
  8. While spren and splinters are technically just little pieces of other shards it is very unlikely that things that work on spren would work on Shards. Their power has transcended that of any magic system, so I doubt the use of one would bind a Shard. The prison that Odium is trapped in is probably unrelated to the magic systems of Roshar (Mistborn era 1 Spoilers)
  9. Out of context of the conversation I can see how you may think he is referring to Odium, but the conversation is clearly about the Parshendi "Gods" aka the Unmade. That fabrial he is holding up is implied to hold an Unmade. On the topic of Odium's imprisonment there is a WoB that says that Hoid refers to Cultivation by the nickname "Slammer". This leads me to believe that Cultivation is directly related to Odium's imprisonment. Quote: On the topic of gems themselves we have WoB that there is a limit to the amount of Investiture that physical objects can hold, and that probably includes gemstones.
  10. I did when i found this, doesnt seem like it could match up with anything else.
  11. 1. Words of Radiance 2. Way of Kings 3. Emperors Soul 4. The Final Empire 5. Shadows of Self 6. Hero of Ages 7. Warbreaker 8. Secret History 9. Bands of Mourning 10. Alloy of Law
  12. So there has been a lot of mystery surrounding what the Aimian said at the end of that interlude, most theories ive seen revolving around Unmade. I think i found a piece of evidence that confirms this. In the first Dalinar chapter in WoR he is in a vision set in the purelake. Him and a bunch of other soldiers, including a radiant, are hunting for a spren that has been "touched", or corrupted, by something named Sja-anat. The title of this chapter? Taker of Secrets. It makes a lot of sense to me that something that can take over cognitive entities would be able to extract information from someone after they died and before they passed to the beyond. Let me know what you think.
  13. @Calderis @ExtesianI dont think the affects of savantism become completely homogeneous with the Soul. The Spiritual Realm is able to tell what is new and what is original (like with Soulstamps and hemalurgic spikes) in my opinion. Edit: This concept is even explored in the interlude
  14. Fair enough. It does seem to me, however, that the healing of Shardblade wounds is a matter of abscence, not excess like with Savantism. It makes sense to me that pouring more investiture in wouldn't solve the problem, but i could definitely be wrong.
  15. I dont know, we already know that a process similar to the one im describing exists in the Cosmere (as well as having shown similar affects to a Larkin).
  16. You say spirit web damage, but that damage is done by and consists of investiture. Its not that far of an intuitive leap. Especially when you consider that the larkin/lanceryn are pretty much the only thing foreshadowed from Aimia (besides sleepless cremlings) before this interlude.
  17. I'm sure a lot of you have read the Oathbringer interlude set right outside of Aimia (find it here if you havent) and i have a theory on one of the questions posed in it. What is on the island that can possibly cure Soulcaster savantism? My theory proposes that the Larkin/Lanceryn or their gemhearts (which are rumored to be on Aimian islands), used in fabrials, have the ability to rid the soul of the affects of savantism. This fits with what we already have seen them do (suck stormlight out of Lift). Expanding on this, I could see how these powers could greatly help Odium and his forces conquer Roshar. Not only could the Lanceryn be uused to easily combat Shardbearers and Surgebinders, but I could see how their powers could possibly be used in many other ways. As always, let me know what you guys think. edit: FIRST!11!!one!11
  18. We know that she had to have had something going on to attract Pattern before her mother attacked her, my theory is that her family had already been abusive and unhappy. It would be interesting if her wish that she would have never had to kill her mother so that her family could be happy was actually all predicated on that lie.
  19. It'd be cool for him to come around and for them to reach a mutual understanding.
  20. We know the main traits for Dustbringers are "Brave" and "Obedient", so i always thought it would make a cool character arc for one of Shallan's deserter body guards to become one (preferably Gaz).
  21. I could see it happening, but my hunch has always been that Dalinar will eventually die. Mistborn book 3 scarred me forever.
  22. Returned can only be created by the specific Decision of Endowment. Also, Szeth remembers his past unlike returned.
  23. Oh, I agree with you, I'm just saying you shouldn't frase theory as fact. Especially in the questions board.
  24. We have only seen one example of Jasnah soulcasting from her PoV. It is far to early to say anything about how she regularly soulcasts
  25. Szeth is almost definitely getting interludes.
