  1. We have chickens. All females. Their names are Sadie, Ramona, Feisty, and my personal favorite… Atilla the Hen.

  3. Well… I don't know anyone who doesn't like honest-to-goodness macaroni and cheese. And I like the way that the word ellipsis sounds… And the way that, in practice, it portrays a relatively hesitant manner. Yes, I totally agree with this sentiment. That's what happens when one does science. Too bad we don't have a Cosmere-lab. Breaths would be very expensive to purchase, though…

  5. I thought all of the curses and boons were primarily cognitive effects (i.e., Dalinar not remembering his wife, etc.).*

  7. Ah. Thank you for the clarification, Weiry. Even if you are an Evil Librarian, you are a really helpful one.

  9. Hmmm… good point. Can I see the source on that? I'll try looking for it, but I may not find it. Edit: Found this linked in the Coppermind. Seems to contradict what you said, though it is in the form of a legend…
  10. I think that the Shaod is one of the effects of the continuously acting AonRao which the city of Elantris is made up of. When the Aon was incomplete, the effect of the Aon was disturbed and made the Elantrians into… whatever they were… people without access to the Ideal of health or something.

  13. Nope to both. (or all four, depending on how you see it.)
  14. Useless inheritance
  15. Hmmm… I thought color was the reflected wavelengths of light. Absorption is the absence of those certain "microwave colors". Don't have time to figure out the implications right now, but it is a fascinating train of thought that you've got there. Though black is the most powerful awakening color, so maybe absorption is key…
  16. Quick note: I believe that Adolin does not remember his mother either. Don't have the book on me though, so I can't confirm it.
  17. It seems as if Aimians are more Cognitively integrated and aware by nature. They can change their appearances (like Returned, that's a Cognitive function) and they have Shadesmar-shadows. Just a note. Edit: Does anyone else get Axies mixed up with the other Collector from Marvel Comics?
  18. Well… A microwave actually functions by exciting water molecules in the target food, not bombarding the food with heat rays (infrared radiation). So it really wouldn't matter what the color the pizza is, just if there's water in it. (Just curious, what are the Realmatic implications?)
  19. POL 307 - Noninterference in the Cosmere Instructor - TBA Note: Headmaster Hoid barely tolerates this class.
  20. Ah! Vin's earring?
  21. Re: Prof's weakness Weaknesses seem to be related to things which Epics did not like about themselves (see Mitosis). You can easily extend this to Steelheart (did not like being not feared/respected) and other Epics. Something that reminds them about their humanity, perhaps. Though that one with the vulnerability to people who are exactly 37 years old might be hard to rationalize… Maybe the thing that reminds an Epic most of being human and powerless actually makes them powerless. Sort of like Cognitive perception of oneself (Vasher, anyone?). (Yes, I know that Steelheart isn't Cosmere, but Brandon seems to like to use pseudo-Realmatics even when Realmatics don't directly apply in world.)
  22. Wouldn't that give the fish sentience?
  23. I have heard a theory (in the Sprenspotting section) that Shardplate is eventually fused out of many non-sentient spren (creationspren for Lightweavers, windscreen for Windrunners, etc.). I'm not sure about this theory, but it has some interest and merit to be looked into.
  24. Heh… I saw Adonalsium/universal 16 concept/rudimentary realmatics in HoA and started to suspect something was up. The AoL Ars Arcanum was what really started me guessing… (… three primary manifestations of Investiture on Scadrial… , … As compared to Sel, where all magics are form-based…, … Hemalurgy is of the greatest interest to others…, etc.). I already guessed that Sel was Elantris' world, and a couple of things in the Warbreaker and Mistborn annotations gave me more support. I thought that I was really onto something. Until I read Tor's WoK reread where they mention Ishikk's interlude as being "pure cosmere-building." And Galladon was there. On Roshar. ?!?!? So that led me to The Coppermind. And from there to the 17th Shard.
  25. He's probably busy fighting off the last batch of crazy spambots.
