  1. I used to believe that 0.9999999..... ad infinitum didn't equal one. I realize now that I just have a problem with decimal representation of infinite series.
  2. Chaos and Weiry come to mind quickly.
  3. My theory: Szeth behaves like a Skybreaker (justly and confidently) with the potential to attract a highspren. Nalan can't guarantee a Nahel bond, but he does see potential in Szeth. I also think that Nalan has redefined what the Skybreakers are. He seems to have collected lieutenants who are loyal to him and the principles he pursues (See Lift's interlude). These are not Knights Radiant. Perhaps Nalan hopes that highspren will be attracted to these individuals, but he cannot guarantee it. He calls these people Skybreakers.
  4. Arrow and Numb3rs, even if I'm not super impressed with Numb3rs yet.
  5. Arrow. It's getting a bit intense now.
  6. When you come up with Realmatic explanations for unscientific science fiction. "The Inhumans are just more Invested. They get their power from Mist! It must be Splinter-sized, though, since Mistborn-levels of Investiture can't possibly have that affect. That temple was probably near a shardpool..."
  7. Yes, the sands of time were made into Lenses, but Brandon currently uses them to convince the world that he writes fast. He just keeps the piles of golden dust that accumulate around his desk a secret.
  8. I'm pretty sure that we've been RAFO'ed on Endowment's holder, both as to the gender and whether his/her/its name is Edgli. My personal theory is that Edgli is a dragon, but that's just speculation.
  9. Sadeas. His land shares the most border with Herdaz (at least from what I can tell from the map of Alethkar in WoK.
  10. 1. George Washington 2. John Adams 3. John Quincy Adams 4. James Buchannan 5. James K. Polk 6. Zachary Taylor 7. Barak Obabma 8. Millard Fillmore 9. Martin van Buren 10. Abraham Lincoln 11. Ronald Reagan 12. Chester A. Arthur 13. William McKinley 14. Warren Gamaliel Harding 15. William Henry Harrison 16. John Tyler 17. Ulysses S. Grant 18. James Monroe 19. Taft 20. Theodore Roosevelt 21. Calvin Coolidge 22. Henry Hoover 23. Benjamin Harrison 24. Grover Cleaveland 25. Jimmy Carter And maybe someday... Hillary Clinton? All the Rithmatic lines know to date
  11. What I am thinking of is both a place and a person.
  12. I like the thinking that went into this. However, Nightblood may also have been given the command "Chop wood" and, as a Type IV BioChromatic entity (sentient, non-living host) he would still consume Investiture in order to chop wood. I personally think this is because sentient BioChromatic entities consume Investiture in order to survive (i.e., the Returned).
  13. Not one of the sparking people themselves. Look at my second hint. I didn't say 70% of the way there...
  14. Note that he said that Hoid "has access to atium". This means that a) Hoid has atium at his home base*, Hoid constantly has atium on his person, or c) Hoid knows where to find atium on Scadrial. Is no one else considering the possibility that the Parshendi gods are the actual Heralds? Yes, that's a very strict interpretation of the quote and highly unlikely, but it's something that I want to throw out there. I personally don't think it's the case because it makes so much more sense that the Unmade fill the role.
  15. I guess this comes from my own (possibly too informed) view on the subject...
  16. From one to ten, kinxer's at about a 7.
  17. Feruchemy, hands down. It's just so practical, and I could remember EVERYTHING.
  18. Closest to the sparking people.
  19. I googled the quote. It is from a Myst game. The context is one guy is writing in his journal. He has unjustly killed many people alongside his brother Sirrus. I can't figure out what it means, though... Edit: And now, as soon as I go away from writing this post, I realize that it might be Dalinar and Gavilar uniting Alethkar.
  20. Szeth. "The killings, the murder. He blinked tired eyes. SCREAMS." WoR, I-10
  21. WoR
  22. Something from the tweets archive on Brandon's site, about two-thirds of the way down the page (March 12th). It's not a world-shattering revelation, but I just wanted to make sure that it was known for theorizing purposes.
  23. Scadrial: Sazed Nalthis: Llarimar Roshar: Pattern/Jasnah Sel: Galladon And I'm hoping that I like Nazh. He seems reasonably grumpy and interesting.
  24. I saw "everyone dies", so Shakespearean tragedy was a logical place to start. A man adopts a baby and puts the him into a cage. The man becomes famous, letting people bet on the actions of the baby and filling the cage with ads.
