  1. Yep. Calderis noted the same passage as you did a few days ago when he was doing his reread. (might've been in another thread.)
  2. It's not necessarily his plan. Odium could simply be planning for any possible outcome. Perhaps he wants to turn a Herald for more mundane reasons like having a spy or a traitor in the higher ranks, and he then uses that traitor as his champion later on when he realizes it's inevitable("He's bound by rules. We all are.") Mistborn Spoilers
  3. Do you think you can find that again? It would basically contradict one of the few patterns I've noticed about the SA books if true. So far, we've done Male, Female, Male. Back before he chose whether Szeth or Dalinar would have book 3, Eshonai was always mentioned fourth in his names.(might've been unintentional, but..) The back five has 3 female viewpoints and two male, so if he followed suit, Taln would be either book 7 or 9. If Taln is book 10, then I'm wrong and his alternating m/f pattern has been coincidence.
  4. As Calderis said, theatrics. It was also more than likely a holdover from back when Brandon did have gem breaking be the way to sever the bonds.
  5. So he did. Perhaps that's why he spoke Thaylen well enough for Rysn to think it was his first language, because of all those practice years.
  6. I don't mean to double post, but I found something of particular note: Mraize has an Attractor Fabrial. This is mostly important because many chapters later, Navani herself is uncertain about how safe Attractors are. And there you have it. Attractor Fabrials with two confirmed usages, and all manner of potential uses. Additionally, the Rule of Symmetry means that there should be a Repellor Fabrial sometime in the future. My only question is the obvious one: Where does the smoke go? The moisture gets pulled to it and goes on, but the smoke has no such mention, and Shallan seemed doubtful that they had carved a flue(kinda like a chimney) for the smoke "all the way down here." Additionally, this tech would make stockpiling rain water in a reservoir much easier if it ever became necessary. More of a big deal on earth, as you could collect more clean rain water(back when that was legal) per storm before it gets mixed with the dirt and mud.
  7. From the Ultimate List: Q1 highlights that most every Thaylen we know has a mercantile job. Q2 was more along the lines of a "language of trade" thing. It seemed like too many coincidences to be unintentional.
  8. Two things of note. One, regarding having AonDor programs: And two, we haven't even reached that level yet have we? Even considering the tremendous advantages Elantris will have over us during societal development, I don't think they could reach that level too easily.
  9. So I found something of moderate relevance on Mraize's coppermind article. While it lacks a source notation, I'm inclined to trust it. From the Book: I feel that Mraize using his actual name as a "title" would be too.. risky.
  10. I know, but as Shallan thinks they were the same, comparing the other two seemed reasonable. They all look pretty similar. which seems odd.
  11. I would say no. The source of "members only three" is an in-world book. To me, that says that there were 3 actual Bondsmiths as any one time, and Ishar is an extra(because while Brandon may not distinguish the Heralds as different, the Vorin Church certainly would.)
  12. The Chasmfiend artwork actually has the caption "Are these the same Spren as those I saw with the Skyeels in Kharbranth?" Top Left Corner. That said, the Spren on the Santhid and Skyeel illustrations do look similar.
  13. That's the Svrakiss you're thinking of. On the other hand, the Skaze have a lot of influence in Fjordell.
  14. I've considered updating several pages with WoB's that I frequently have to find, so that it's quicker. The "Roshar" subheading on the Aluminum page was my first attempt way back when, since Aluminum has links to everywhere else. Chaos has said that there is an updating spree on the agenda. My understanding is they've decided but haven't told us. I think someone did palaneum is a problem coz of some other site? Here's a few more relevant posts from that thread: Both of these are from May 22nd. Additionally, the goal is to have the open release shortly before the release of Oathbringer. @Chinsukolo I found a more concise one. (closest i can link to is Q56, while the WoP is Q54)
  15. Somewhat. Keeping unity is the responsibility of exactly who you'd expect. He survived at least up to the Recreance.
  16. I blame how many signings we get from time to time. People spend so long writing transcripts in Events and Signings then attempting to get those onto Theoryland, while the other half of us make theories based on them, and nobody actually hits up the Coppermind. I usually skip over it when WoB hunting for this reason. Formatting links isn't my strong point, but I've done it before. It's done, might have to be reformatted later, but it's linked there.
  17. Enjoy roundabout WoB logic. Seons - Aona - Devotion. Skaze - Skai - other shard(Per the Letter, Skai was a Vessel). Combine with "other Shard is Dominion" and there you go.
  18. That statement does have a source actually, on Skai's page. Now, it should also be on Dominion's page, but a good rule of thumb is to check related pages for sources. Edit: Actually, it is on Dominion's page, but earlier. It's the [1] in the sentence directly before saying the holder is Skai. Additionally, I checked the edit history(as i am in the habit of doing). The bit marked "theory" was in the page first, was later marked as theory that same day, and then the line near the top was added nine months later.
  19. It's in the theories section, so is not proven canon. The line near the top lacks a source citation.
  20. here's one, from the linked post on down Not sure if there are others, but I knew this one
  21. I was merely stating that you wouldn't need to super tap. I'm sure that there is something beneficial from a super tap, but it's not like health where the benefit is obvious, and obvious things are more likely to be used. Agree to disagree until Brandon gives us more details.
  22. Hoid was able to travel though the CR in its dangerous state in order to arrive on Sel. His being in another place does not mean as much as the others do. The WoB you are referring to is lacking it's question. If it is about the Ire, then some are pre-Reod(dangerous), and some are after(may/may not be dangerous). This means that there is a way for Elantrians to get into the CR while it was dangerous. This really seems to undermine the whole "travel there is dangerous" shtick that Brandon keeps saying, so I'm unsure.
  23. Taravangian appears to have been the one who inspired your interpretations of this Oath, which seems incredibly convenient.
  24. This would be a fascinating read. Upvote for creative idea!
