  1. Meta says he prefers you use your Seon. M'Hael, as a member of House Urbain (the paranoid), I can understand your insistence on testing my Dula-ness out, but this is frankly ridiculous. Jain. Kasimir. If the Eliminators have a Keeper (although I think this is unlikely), it's a cheap way to mess with my Dula abilities by putting a secret vote on me to make it appear as though the vote never disappeared. No, thank you. We're going to do it right, with an extra vote on me to make sure this can't happen.
  2. Okay. Lots of information from Elantris, both from Ren (Meta conveyed his words to me), and from Meta. I'm going to pass on what Ren said first, because that is less substantial and pertains directly to what is going on. 1. The Night Two Leak This is where Kipper seems to be misunderstanding the conversation. It's about the leak that led to Phat being attacked on Night Two, not Phat's death last cycle. We had two potential leaks remaining: Wonko or Zas. Ren's gotten back to us. There are two cycles on which Wonko/Sart contacted Elantris: Night 1, and on Day 3. Both of them do not fall within the critical period of Phat's reveal, which happened sometime between Day 2 and Night 2. As the attack took place on the same night, this leaves us with Zas. At this point in time, given that Zas is Hoed, I do not advise lynching Zas. I am given to understand Meta and Ren have something planned. 2. Wilson's Question Wilson, you asked Ren about what he said to Winter. Ren claims that all he told Winter was that he lacked strong suspicions, rather than that Elantris was clean. And that was for pretty obvious reasons--Night 1, hello? 3. Quiet People Ren and Meta would like to remind all that they can only count SIX people who are consistently active at the moment, and not Elantrians. Better hope the Shaod doesn't come or the thread will just die at this rate. That number is frankly ridiculously small. Talk more, people! Am glad to have woken up to more discussion. Ren's identified a list of players he considers too quiet: Jain, Mek, Clanky, Alv, Dow, Araris, Hufflepuff, Emerald, Claincy, Ostrich, Karlin, Twei, Sart, Luckat. Right now, his primary suspicion is Ostrich (Meta disagrees there), but reminds everyone not to forget about Sart. 4. Bort It's been almost two cycles since I sent him to Elantris. The major question is if he's going to come out tonight or the next Day. Hreo, could we please get some clarification on that? Meta notes that Bort is his top suspect, and Bort's illicit post in the thread has raised his hackles as it seems Bort is attempting to delay communications with the surviving Priest. In addition, Bort has been silent in Elantris--at least, according to Meta, since Meta was added to that PM. So at this point, Meta plans to scan Bort tonight. But if we can't come up with a better lynch target despite discussion, he notes he won't have any raging objections if we decide to just lynch Bort and have done with. 5. Messages to Specific People Seonid, Meta wants to talk to you ASAP. Like, he even bolded and underlined the thing, so I'd figure it's pretty urgent, yeah? Sart, Meta is wondering why you didn't follow up after your conversation last night. 6. Clever Cultists Meta would like to remind the thread that the Cultists are plenty clever, thank you very much, and they didn't really need Wyrm to start being clever. Consider that few enough people outside those already cleared (of being Cultists) by Meta who defended Winter, thereby giving us scant connections to draw. Add the death of Orlok, which is still a major question mark--Meta's best guess at this point is they just wanted to confuse us. The point of which is: first, don't underestimate the Cultists, and second, it doesn't take Wyrm, they were already in the right direction to start with. (Sorry, Wyrm-cyning ) As a further addendum to this: while Meta doesn't yet trust Araris, he agrees with the latter's point about Winter silencing discussion by surrendering herself and thereby preventing her comrades from being discovered. He is especially suspicious of Hufflepuff because Winter didn't say much about him when listing her views on each of the players. 7. Meta's Suspicions Meta's current suspicions are as follows: the M'Hael, Clanky and Hufflepuff, but he suspects Jain as a potential Gyorn. All the same, he adds that this is more a gut feeling because of how defensive Jain has been. This concludes the morning report from Elantris Live. We wish you good health, and may the Shaod never take you!
  3. Just to check: is 17S hanging for everyone else or is it just my internet? :S I keep having to refresh pages constantly just to be able to even see part of it. Seriously guys, as Meta and Ren have been urging, we need to get some discussion in. So far, three names have come up. Just three. What happened to all the suspicion lists? What gives, guys? We’ve lost Phat, it’s a shorter cycle, and Meta’s currently enjoying the accomodations in Hotel Elantris. Okay. That’s kind of an ouch. But we’ve got to move on and hold up our end of things. I’m a bit worried about those who’ve been flying under the radar: in particular, Luckat, Araris and Clanky, with Karlin and Ostrich being on the more egregious end. And Jain—you’re being remiss as a fellow member of the Inquisition. What gives? While I have objections to the rationality of Clanky's response, they don't matter here as we're not a class on political philosophy, much less Downs paradox. So I'm not going to make further comment.
  4. Got to say, I think you're misreading me. I was agreeing with you because you're not the only one I've heard of with these problems (see: missing action), in this cycle. Let's leave it at that. What I was saying was that I'd rather wait for your confirmation from Hreo since I haven't heard anything on my end. You're more likely to get back faster. That is all.
  5. Fair enough. The working assumption is that the Night 2 strike on Phat was a targeted strike. If we're contact-tracing for Night 2, there are really just several culprits: 1. Winter Phat was in contact with her through Seon Ien on Day One. Unknown if he accidentally leaked his own role. Ren said Phat hadn't answered that the last I spoke to him in yesterday's PM. 2. Ren, Neo Cleared. Ren was in PMs with Winter on Night 1 and Night 3 but he did not betray Phat's role. While Neo might've inadvertently been the leak (Elantrians, can you confirm this through Meta, please?), it seems, at the moment, unlikely. In eithter case, Ren and Neo have both been cleared. 3. Wonko Questionable, depending on whether he contacted Phat prior to/on Night 2. Again, I'd like Elantrian confirmation on this, but if that's the case, then he can't have been the leak either. 4. Zas Again, the main leading culprit: has not been cleared and has become Hoed. If it has not been looked at closely, it was because of the miscommunication with Wonko and the distraction from the Maili and Winter lynch. Yesterday, the plan was for the Elantrians to settle the matter by scanning Zas just in case the leak really had been Phat. [The original plan had been to scan Neo and lynch Zas to find out, but upon recalling that Winter had contacted Phat, Ren favoured scanning Zas rather than a LAFO.] Upon Phat's death and Meta's temporary stay in Elantris, it is likely that the matter will be settled one way or another unless you'd like to lynch Zas and find out.
  6. I'm not quite sure I'm following you here, King. Everyone knew Phat was a priest. It was no secret. Phat had been engaged in a [Edit: PM] conversation with Winter on Day 1. He later revealed himself and the roles of those he scanned (including Wilson and Ren) in the Elantris PM. To top it off, Wonko, his contact, revealed that Phat was a Priest to the entire thread in asking us to lynch Zas. (This should be on Day Three, when Phat was publicly outed.) Contact-tracing yields two main points of contact. 1. Zas. The prime candidate for the lynch a while back, Zas is now Hoed. He has not been cleared, and Phat might've been trying to clear him the night he was murdered. If there was a leak within Elantris when Phat was first attacked, Zas is the likely source as Ren and Neo have been confirmed by Phat, and the first attack happened on Night Two. 2. Wonko. As you pointed out, Wonko was Phat's contact with the thread. I don't deny we should look at Wonko, especially since he was implicated in the miscommunciation involving Zas. Yet at the same time, again, since everyone knew Phat was the Priest by now, Wonko's contact with Phat cannot itself implicate him for this attack. Zas's can, because we're contact-tracing for the Night Two attack on Phat. Now, with regard to whether Wonko could've been the leak for the Night Two attack, we'd need to clarify the timeline with Elantris further. What Elantris is currently doing about it, I don't know. As soon as I know, y'all will know. Edit: For Wyrm.
  7. Vasher?
  8. Kipper, you're not the only one who seems to have difficulty with actions coming through, so it may be a GM issue, but as you said, I guess, wait and see. Meta has not yet caught up with Elantris, so there is at present no word from Elantris. Seonid, if it's sensitive information, I would highly recommend you pass it to Meta instead, especially if it turns out your PM about receiving Nae hasn't come in yet. Now that Wilson's a convert, you should not entrust her with such information as she could be a crouching Odiv. More importantly, and this is a general reminder to everyone: Practice safe Seon-use. Don't centralise information, and especially do not pass sensitive information to people the Gyorn can target. Meta, at least, is immune to conversion. (Basically, hang on to it, trust no one, and if trusting someone, trust someone who can't become an Odiv. If trusting someone potentially unsafe, only tell them things you don't mind them cutting out your throat with. Kolo?) - As Meta has said, let's start the ball rolling. Clanky. I'd like an answer from last cycle. P.S. I'm going to assume Meta's poisoning was a case of unfriendly fire. Which is good, as it gives us an insight into the likely structure of the Cultist team. It it was instead friendly fire, I'd request for the responsible citizen to step forward now. Edit: Edit 2: Spelling error: mispelled 'team' as 'theme.'
  9. 1. Reminder from Meta: Cycle now shorter--discuss urgently find Cultists. 2. Seonid, Meta should be getting in contact with you. I've passed him my Seon. REMINDER: Trust no one. Need to know basis only. People confirmed by Meta can still become Odivs. Practice Seon safety!
  10. Phat could've been Hoed, as I was saying multiple times. (And I'm not the only one to mention that!) Not voting put Phat at risk, given Bort's vote and Winter's vote. There was no knowing if the Duke/Duchess would've gotten to Winter on time and votejacked her. You could've been votejacked by the Cultist Prince/Princess--what made you so sure you wouldn't be? Echoing the well-wishes, Tulir :/
  11. A minor tactical note: I'd like to request other holders of poison vials--if possible--hold their fire and save on those vials for the time being. Here's why: 1. As I understand it, Elantris is still tied up with the Zas-Bort affair, so it may not be the case that Phat can get to the people you've sent tonight in a timely fashion--before they check out of Hotel Elantris again. 2. I suspect there is a Cultist Pirate, although for obvious reasons, I cannot be sure of it. As I understand it, if there is a Cultist Pirate, then we have no way to defend against their 'kill-with-me' ability. Korathi pendants and Jindo do not protect against a Pirate kill-with-me. Nothing can. Except: it is possible to use a poison vial to role-block a Pirate, in a very limited way. A poisoned Pirate loses any Elantris-external hostages they might have and if they pick a hostage again, the hostage has to be within Elantris. This, at least, seems to help us minimise the damage a Cultist Pirate could wreak on us. (Sorry, Elantrians. Best idea I have at the moment :/ ) We mightn't even need to resort to that, but I figure it's best to have the poison for a hairy situation than to spend it too early innundating Elantris.
  12. ...This is an awkward confession, but everytime I see someone post in that new thread entitled 'Theme Song for Tien', my brain autocorrects it to 'Song for Ten' (that track from the Doctor Who OST!) and then I have to stare before I realise it's Tien :/ Mea culpa.
  13. Raw Vote Count: Kas (0): M'Hael<1>, M'Hael<2> Winter (17): Meta, Kipper<1>, Winter<1>, Wilson2<2>, Jain, Seonid<2>, Araris, M'Hael<3>, dowanx, Twei<2>, Hufflepuff, Emerald<2>, Alv, Kipper<2>, King Wyrm, Claincy, Kas<2>, Luckat Meta (0): Kas<1>, Twei<1>, Wilson2<1>, Seonid<1>, Emerald<1> Phat (2): Winter<2>, Bort Bort(3): Neo, Phat, Ren Final Vote Count: Kae (Winter Cloud): 17 (Edrab Leah, Jain, Gerald Hobbes, Edaan, Down, Arfear Quinn, Hene Bata, Duke Pifferdan, Clancy, Kaian, Kiireon, MenE, Nathanael, Sheon Idris, Tehen, Liala) Borter Clams (Bort): 4 (Kae, Neo, Riingar, Sienene) Sienene (phattemer): 1 (Borter Clams) - My general conclusions are as follows: it's interesting to note that our Prince/Princess does not seem to have struck this cycle. Presumably, the Cultists don't have both a Keeper of the Secret Tunnels and a Prince/Princess. If not, it would be an easy task to Hoe Phat, what with Bort's vote and inactives like Karlin not having voted. [To clarify: 1 Keeper + Prince/Princess votejacking Karlin/Ostrich + Bort = Hoed!Phat.] I think our Duke/Duchess has hit Winter and redirected her vote to Bort. Thanks for that save, whoever you are. In addition, at least at this point, I think it's interesting that the Prince/Princess is lying low. While it's plausible that the Prince/Princess could've tried to votejack one of the 17 like Luckat, it seems unlikely to me. They'd found a sweet spot votejacking Ostrich or Karlin, and especially Ostrich has never posted in the thread. Why be exotic and find someone else? It looks more to be like the Prince/Princess declined to participate in votejacking shenanigans this time around. (Another possibility is, as Wilson previously suggested, that Bort is the Cultist Prince/Princess. In which case, he can't actually votejack as he's stuck in Elantris and everyone in Elantris who could vote has voted. Note that because he has been Hoed, Zas cannot vote. But for that, I suspect we'll have to wait on Phat, since that was the whole point of checking Bort into Hotel Elantris.) Last thing of note: none of our own Keepers struck this time. But then, they really had no reason to. Edit: Y u do dis, colour editor?!
  14. Meta. Do you happen to be able to talk discreetly, whether through a PM or otherwise? I've thought about it, and I think you need to know who the Lovers are. Sorry, Lovers. I know I indicated I was willing to go down without revealing your identities. But as a Korathi Priest, Meta can't be converted by the Gyorn, so you're safe on that front. Can't help you if you're a mixed pairing, but the odds are, you're Citizens. And given new information I've just received, I think this has to be done.
  15. We do. It was clearly stated in the thread. But summarised for your convenience: Night One: Zas Night Two: Luckat (saved by Korathi pendant) Night Three: Luckat Night Four: PAFO. Edit: Also, oh man! We're running through pinch-hitters like Vin burns atium!
  16. Almighty GM, you said this when I asked you if people who had been poisoned, then taken by the Shaod would be notified for real. When you said it would be revealed in the write up, what did you then mean? Just to clarify?
  17. This is the last report from Elantris for the day. [Due to timezone issues.] 1. Bort did not come back online after Ren and co. came down on him. Neo, Phatt, and Ren all dogpiled votes on him just in case he was miraculously taken by the Shaod. 2. As of this point of writing, it is ambiguous if Zas or Bort will be scanned. There are good reasons for scanning both; to say the least, Bort's interesting behaviour. 3. Bort cannot yet be Hoed. He has only been poisoned. 4. Ren would like to remind everyone not to simply rely on Priest scans. They can be useful, especially if they turn up a Cultist, but otherwise, what we need is discussion. This is Kas, bringing you the latest news, live, from Elantris, as the sun goes down. We'll be back tomorrow! Thank you for watching Elantris Live.
  18. This is a slightly more PG9 version of the other game. (Cliff, shag and marry.) It basically goes like this: Person A provides the names of three characters. [Can be Sanderson characters or from other fandoms--just try to pick something people are likely to know!] Person B decides who they would supply with an army, who they would elect as Prime Minister (or President, for those of you in presidential systems), and whose writings they'd like to read. They can supply reasons for that choice, but it's not necessary. Then, Person B suggests another three characters for the next person. And so on! I'll start it off: Kaladin, Vasher, and Hrathen.
  19. Guys. Kind of urgent. 1. PSA: All citizen vote manipulators. Calling all citizen vote manipulators. We [Ren and I] need you to target Winter and/or Bort and make sure their votes go to Winter. No harm in stacking the lynch train at this point and we don't want to risk setting up an opposing lynch. (Vote manipulators of any other sort, just hit Winter.) 2. This is the current state of the votes in Elantris: Zas (3): Ren, Phat, Neo Phat (1): Bort Winter has a vote on Phat. So does Bort. One more Cultist vote and one of our two Priests becomes Hoed. It won't be the end of the world, but guys. Don't make it easier for the Cultist Prince/Princess. Vote for Winter. Ren's about to come down hard on Bort, but let's make sure our side is doing our bit too, alright? Edit: ...Scratch that. You can't make Winter hit herself but you have to hit the same target. So. Shift the vote to me. I'll be able to tank it, kolo? Edit 2: According to Ren, this is pretty much what happened. About one hour after Meta's reveal of his role and Winter's alignment, Bort decided to go and vote for Phat, citing a dispute about how Phat was treating him. (Apparently, Phat had suggested potentially Hoe-ing Bort on a future turn. Ren can't find anything else that might've sparked the dispute.) They're currently trying to sort matters out. In addition, just a quick reminder: I'd request one more Seon-holder get in touch with Elantris each Day cycle so we can cross-check information and make sure it's flowing well, reliably, and accurately. Thanks.
