  1. The scene where Kaladin deflects the storm, as well as Dalinar opening a perpendicularity, are radiants gaining access to heraldic abilities?
  2. Let's say you are an awakener who can also compound Nicrosil. Can you compound awakening to make your awakenings cheaper? That would be a very powerful hack. edit: I think it would be powerful because if allomancy becomes more efficient, wouldn't other types of compounded magic systems become more efficient.
  3. Is this what the Lord Ruler did? Or did he just give himself super strong allomancy when he was in the well?
  4. I have s compounding question. If I stored the ability for allomancy, say pewter, in a nicrosil metal mind. then I burn that metal mind, would the allomantic ability be enhanced? Would I become a super thug, if I continued compounding? If this is possible, what are the upper limits? Could you reach super man levels of strength, durability and speed? Thanks for answers because I have no idea.
  5. Odium accepted a contest of champions. At the time Dalinar represented both Honor's and Odium's champion. Dalinar chose the path of honor. Does that mean that Odium's champion lost? Is that why he had to flee because he would have lost the contest, forcing Odium to rely on conventional forces through the diagram? Does this mean that Odium cannot actively intervene in this desolation? Am I crazy?
  6. Can Lift also infuse stormlight? It would be kind of cool if she was a human-larkin, or "h-arkin." (term is now head cannon)
  7. Would f steel effect the max speed of your steel pushes. If so I pick steel compounding and abrasion.
  8. I loved Lightsong. A God who didn't believe in his own religion was a great concept.
  9. What if Syl transformed into a single strand of string that was woven into a full body suit. Unbreakable and flexible!!!
  10. This actually made me shiver a little bit. Isn't Nightblood's biggest fault that he doesn't know good from evil? So wouldn't a Skybreaker give him the framework he requires?
  11. Nicrosil compounder/Elsecaller. An unlimited amount of investiture, the ability to soulcast my metals and teleport, a magic sword, and the chance to wield nightblood without worry.
  12. do fabrials give access to shadesmar? Maybe fabrial users need to touch to make a connection to the cognitive version of a person, while Jasnah can do that while partially phased into shadesmar. Distances and time are not the same there.
  13. Do we know the timeframe? Doesn't Roshar have a shorter year than Nalthis?
  14. I concede that. I just love the full lashing. I think that it is an extremely powerful and underrated ability. Being able to trap and immobilize your enemies from a distance would be very valuable in a fight.
  15. But he could do a full lashing on a gun, jamming it so it did not work properly.
  16. Haven't we seen Sezth use a long ranged lashing in the Way of Kings? I-9: Death Wears White: "Another group came at Seth from the side, and he drew Starlight into his hand and flung it in a Full Lashing across the floor at their feet." I know this isn't Kaladin, but it is in the realm of possibility that he can use ranged lashings.
  17. Why does it have to be a binary system of creating opposites? I recall that Odium shatters the shards and leaves the power behind because he wants to remain unchanged. So maybe some shards are not opposed by a single shard, but by some combination of the shards. The letter seems to state that each shard balanced out the others. I personally feel like Odium shattered Devotion and Honor for a specific reason. Odium and Devotion are two opposing emotions, that can often act appropriately in a great deal of situations. For example a lot of people can be in a Love/Hate relationship. Honor is essentially a system that dictates how and when one acts in certain situations. Therefore Honor (in this situation) would dictate when one uses the powers of Odium or Devotion. I also wonder if this means that if the shards were put together into two super-shards (assuming they are combined correctly so that they are diametrically oppossed), Harmony would then be able to pick them up and use his balanced nature as a bridge between both super-shards.
  18. I have always wondered how adonalsium could be stronger than the individual shards. Each shard wilds the powers of creation and/or destruction, and wields the ability to transform matter into energy and vice versa. How could you be more powerful than that? It also seems to me that each shard draws on the same forces. I can see the ten surges in a mistborn, an elatrin(however you spell that), and an awakeners. This makes me think that the shards also share a common source. I propose that the reason adonalism is stronger is not due to the raw power, but the fact that it does not come with a corrupting intent which inevitably consumes the wielder. This makes adonalsium so much more versatile and applicable to a much broader range of situations. Essentially, I don't think that the power was divided, just the current wielder's persona. Am I making sense?
  19. I did not know Hatham was a Rhyshadium rider. I will try and find some info on that.
  20. Please forgive me for a long post. My idea on Ryshadium has to do with Roshar. Roshar seems to be a place that is located very closely to shadesmar. I think of the cosmere as a braid with 3 main parts. Everywhere in the cosmere is composed of the three realms, but I think the braid is pulled tightest near Roshar, allowing traversal between the cognitive and physical realms for spren and humans. Every type of idea literally lives on the physical plane here. There is no other place like this (minus Sel, but i feel Seons are different. They may be one type of idea that bonds an Elantran much like an honorspren bonds a windrunner. Seons are the only spren type being that we see on Sel, but on Roshar there are spren for every idea. Anger, fear, fire wind, bindspren.) Back on track. So this led me to wonder, if ideas can enter the world and bond with beings, due to the close proximity to shadesmar, maybe flesh and blood organisms can do something similar, on a smaller scale. Maybe Ryshadium started off as horses originally, but due to the depth of care shown by their owners, they become something more. Similar to how a puppy starts off as a normal dog, but eventually becomes a loyal companion who will be there for you through anything. Dalinar and Adolin seem to genuinely love their horses and you can see it in the way that they care for them. Out of all of the people in the books, only Adolin and Dalinar seem to care for their horses. These horses respond to this and start to see themselves as THEIR horses. Since Adolin and Dalinar see themselves as warriors, their horses see them as warhorses. This leads to a deepening bond, which allows the horses to siphon sentience (and investiture) off of their riders, allowing them to change. Phew Note: I figure some may say Adolin doesn't have extra investiture to siphon off, but he is bonded to a spren...a dead one. This may confer a slight ability to infuse. Considering how often he is in plate, he is essentially surrounded by investiture.
  21. I would like book 6 to be a renarin book with flash forwards. I want to see how the prophecy mechanism works from a truthwatcher's perspective. But it would have to be vague enough to not spoil the rest of the series.
  22. How many of those were windrunners or one of the other orders with squires? That could be a hefty number of storm light enhanced warriors, which positioned correctly could act as a significant force multiplier. Plus if Spren modeled the knights after the heralds, does that mean the heralds could make squires?
  23. Adolin has already shown his ability to resist the thrill, which is believed to be of Odium.
  24. You both get up votes because these were both well thought out and articulated arguments, while keeping it civil. This is why I like reading on these forums.
