If we add a "Stick" reputation level, then we'll also have to have a "Firebringer" reputation level. He is a Stick. I am a Stick. You are a Stick.

Is it even possible for the Heralds to kill each other? If I were Honor/Tanavest and had to empower 10 champions to protect my planet, I'd include some provision to prevent friendly fire. I think that the closest thing we'll get to this is having another Herald(s) deliberately choosing to either not save Taln or to divert voidbringers from their position to Taln's. Interesting theory though.

This is about the death rattle: "The darkness becomes a palace. Let it rule! Let it rule!" Is it possible that this is related to Dalinar's purelake vision? He sees a giant obsidian castle that doesn't exist in the present, and could not have been built by human hands. Perhaps it's a sort of anti-Urithiru? Or a voidbringer ark, similar to Urithiru which is a human ark?

Name: Hotwire Primary Power: Ability to telekinetically control metallic and metalloid objects to form and control advanced circuitry, and is able to do some pretty outlandish stuff with that circuitry. Secondary Power: He is able to transmute objects into various metals and other materials. For example, he'll transmute a rock and then turn it into a circuit. Weakness: Inferior technological products. In the presence of bad computers, such as an Apple Liza or Garminfone, his powers are crippled. He is also unable to transmute these products. You could capture him if you made a cell out of old ipads. Brand of Evil: He really isn't too evil. He controls the city's internet, and severely throttles peoples' speeds when he gets pissed off. He also causes brownouts and does a ton of random stuff. He's kind of insane, and acts similarly to Sheogorath from the Elder Scrolls. Also, after reading Words of Radiance he developed a complete hatred for sticks. Any stick that he sees is immediately set on fire.

I think that terminal velocity will be determined more by air resistance. I think that the Windrunners can use the pressure surge to lower air resistance and maintain constant air pressure in order to fly higher and faster than Skybreakers. This usage would be passive, and would constitute the main difference between Windrunners' and Skybreakers' use of gravitation. In short, Skybreakers are Slow (at least when compared to Windrunners).

Speculation on the Identity of the AAA
Patrick Star replied to Kurkistan's topic in Stormlight Archive
Come on guys. There's only one character in the stormlight archive, or the entire cosmere for that matter, who is knowledgeable and wise enough to write the AA. Quite obviously, the author IS THE STICK! In all seriousness, I think that the dragon-leader of the 17th shard (the guy who responded to Hoid's letter) is the author of the AA. Just because I want to have a dragon write a book. -
No, but they did see two alien-looking things walking across the Shattered Plains. I'm assuming that they were unmade. Also, I'm fairly sure that they were walking towards Narak/Stormseat, which would explain why the thrill is still in the Shattered Plains. This would coincide with Eshonai believing that Stormform would attract the unmade to the Listeners. Even if they were going away from the Shattered Plains, those two have proven to have a very large radius of influence. After all, death rattles and the thrill were occurring across at least two different kingdoms (Jah Keved, Kharbranth, and Alethkar).

Heralds were all human, or at least non-Parshman. They are able to bond Radiantspren, but are not allowed to. That, or Radiantspren are not allowed to bond Parshmen. If Stormfather decides "Hey, that Rlain fellow sure looks honorable. You splinters can bond him now," Rlain would be able to get Honorform by bonding with a Radiantspren.

If there is an unmade in the sphere it's probably Blightwind, AKA Yelig-nar. This would explain why Szeth started hearing the screams of the people that he killed. Shallan and Kaladin saw Moelach and Nergaoul moving on the shattered plains during the highstorm in the chasms.
-
1) Probably. However, Radiantspren (that's what I'm calling them) have never been allowed to bond the Listeners, so it's never actually happened. 2) Yes and Yes. The Listeners will have different forms based on the spren that they bond. This physical change is unique to the Listener race. 3) Possibly and Probably. A human would have to break the Nahel bond, which would likely almost certainly kill their spren. It may be possible for them to bond a different kind of spren, but I'm not sure. Also, I'm not sure that a spren would willingly bond a human who killed their last spren.

Theory on Unlocking the Other Oathgates.
Patrick Star replied to earthboundsyndicate's topic in Stormlight Archive
I thought that they were locked. In the Lhan interlude, he mentions some sort of grate being present right where the sprenblade (that's what I'm going to call living shardblades) would have to go. Last I checked, there were 10 different oathgates. I'm guessing that each gate needs a radiant of a certain order, or more specifically a certain type of spren, to use it in order to unlock it. The reason that the stormseat gate was the only one unlocked is that it was the bondsmith-gate, and would not have been locked because the bondsmiths were shardless. Locking it would have left no way to open it. I'm hoping that the Kholinar gate requires a Windrunner to open That's my opinion, anyways. -
This is almost definitely foreshadowing for book 5. My bet is that The Champion of Honor (it had better be Kaladin) will be forced to chose between stopping Odium at the cost of a large amount, if not all of, human life on the planet or allowing Odium to "win" this desolation and allow humanity to survive and form a counterattack. That's just my two cents, though.

I wonder how Rosharian swearing makes its way into music. I'd imagine that it's something like this: I see you riding 'round town With the girl I love and I'm like, Storm you! Oo, oo, ooo I guess the spheres in my pocket Weren't enough I'm like, Storm you! And storm her too! Said, if I was richer, I'd still be with ya Ha, now ain't that some crem? (ain't that some crem?) And although there's pain in my chest I still wish you the best with a... Storm you! Oo, oo, ooo

I think that the Kholin house wearing Blue and White is more a matter of Vorinism than of anything else. Gavilar was very devout and found a voidsphere and tried to bring desolation back to the world likely would have made his house colors the same as those of the leader of the Almighty's Heralds. I don't think that Nohadon was bonded to an Honorspren (if anything else, he was a bondsmith). I got the impression that Nohadon had associated with Surgebinders (as of Dalinar's vision), and knew them and their spren well enough to be able to come to the conclusion that Honorspren are the best judges of character. As to the founding of the KR, Nohadon and Ishi'Elin likely worked together to create the orders. It's possible that The Way of Kings did publish during Nohadon's lifetime and inspired humanity to begin building the KR.

Words of Radiance Deleted Interlude: Stick

I think that Nalan has simply accepted the single most important truth that any person, dragon, herald, skaa, spren, returned, or shard is able to discover: He is a Stick!!!

This is a theory/speculation (mostly speculation) thread as to the final identities of the champions of Honor and Odium. I'll start first. I think that Kaladin will be Honor's champion. Kaladin has quite obviously experienced some supernatural force influencing his life, outside of his bond with Syl (and the Stormfather). Not including Bridge 4, the amount of times that he's been the only survivor is quite ridiculous. He was spared by Amaram and at least 2 or 3 other owners (after violent escape attempts). With his history and Amaram's values, that should not have happened. In addition, he exudes some unnamable characteristic that EVERYBODY notices. While this might just be a fantastic prescence, I do think that he's being watched over by some outside power (other than Syl). Also, I really don't want Dalinar to be Honor's champion. I just really don't. For Odium's champion, I'm going to wager that it will be a human and not a listener who ends up taking the role. I know that Eshonai (or her sister) is the most sensible and logical pick, but I really think that the Champion will be a corrupted human. I'm really hoping that Amaram will wind up being Odium's champion. With Dalinar's sting and the eventual news that Kaladin's an honorblade-wielding radiant, Amaram is going to be ANGRY!!! We already saw him resent his "mercy" and loss of Dalinar's friendship. Odium will use this anger to corrupt him and turn him into his champion. However, my largest reason for picking these two is that I'm just looking forward to a climactic Kaladin vs Amaram battle (with Kaladin winning, of course). Who are you guys expecting the two champions to be?

In my opinion, Gavilar did NOT actually trap an unmade in the sphere. Instead, I think that the sphere is a sort of "Unmade-bait" that will attract the unmade to its location. This explains why the unmade have been slowly moving towards the sphere. I'll bet that the everstorm was enough to pull them away from its attraction in order to put their eyes on the ParshendiVoidbringers

Our god, Adonalsium, was the first stick. He sacrificed his stickness to ensure a future where all sticks could find their inner stick selves through the realm of Sticksmar. Only when you come to understand this truth can you ascend to the ranks of the stick and gain enlightenment of the machinations of the enigmatic Sticksmere.

Gavilar, you're needed on stage. Yes, in your Plate(minor spoilers)
Patrick Star replied to Ati's topic in Stormlight Archive
He obviously has a very special plate, and wanted to be like Tony Stark from Iron Man 2 Seriously, though. As said earlier, Gavilar was expecting an assassination, but didn't know who would attempt it. My bet is that Gavilar picked up on the nervous Parshendi. While he didn't expect them to send a human shardblade-wielding assassin, there's a good chance that he surmised that they knew that something was going to happen. As to how he interpreted it, it was just him being paranoid and ended up being correct. -
It's actually pretty obvious what Adonalsium is... IT IS A STICK!!! Seriously though, I always envisioned it as more of a gem than a rock. Maybe a large conglomeration?
-
I don't think that will be a problem for him. There's a good chance that the factories were not destroyed by the everstorm, so there will likely be enough time for him to pack up the equipment and do a quick harvesting. Also, the honor of helping to fulfill the vengeance pact will likely help him establish a steady stream of revenue. Overall, I REALLY liked this guy.

Lighteyes suck at apologising... (some spoilers)
Patrick Star replied to ChocolateRob's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree 100% with everything in this post. Shallan's was the most infuriating for me: "Hey Kaladin, you were forced to act as bait for the Parshendi and run into a bloodbath every day or two, were strung up in a highstorm for surviving, forced to practically live in damnation for an entire year, and watch hundreds of your friends get killed like flies, all because you were enslaved by a corrupt lighteyes. After this, you passed up the opportunity to escape in order to rescue a brightlord that Sadeas had allied with, and actually succeeded in the rescue. You finally got your freedom, but chose to protect said brightlord in order to ensure that your men would retain their freedom. You fought 4 shardbearers in order to save my fiance even though he acted like a complete jerk to you, and put up a better fight than any normal human should have been able to - and were thrown in jail because of it. Plus, I stole your boots. However, there is no reason for you to be so hostile towards us lighteyes. You are just plain spiteful!" Dalinar's was also a head-banger: "Hey Kaladin, surviving the highstorm and the bridgecrew was impressive, and rescuing me should not have been possible. You drove off the assassin in white and survived a 100-foot drop, and were able to recognize his presence and evacuate the palace before he attacked. But there's absolutely no way that you can be telling the truth about Amaram. He's obviously a much better man for me to crown head of the Knights Radiant. But I still demand absolute loyalty of you, even though I'm betraying you like the other lighteyes." and then after the chasms: "Amaram, apologize for what you did!" Really, Dalinar, really? Elhokar definitely had the best apology: "You're special, Kaladin. I stopped seeing those twisted symbols as soon as you came. As Dalinar said, you fought off the Assassin in White. You've done the impossible more times than I have been able to do the possible. You're a hero. You've done things that no man should have been able to do, and I demanded you to be executed for them. That was so, so stupid of me. I did the completely wrong thing, and I know it. I completely ruined what should have been a glorious opportunity for you." Also, Adolin's u-turn after the duel was about as good an apology as he could have given.- 49 replies
