In this case, we really don't care how it gets into gemstones. Since I'm treating it as an ideal gas, it can definitely be compressed (PV =nrt). A higher density would give off more light. Otherwise, partially filled spheres would be just as bright as new ones, and Kaladin would light up as soon as he breathed in even a little bit of stormlight. Can't comment on mass.

This is why I'm treating stormlight as an ideal gas. In the real world, the rate of diffusion is not influenced by how much gas is diffusing. It only matters what type of gas is doing so. This is why stormlight leaks from spheres as a constant rate. An ideal gas is made of volumeless particles that don't interact with eachother, so it's a good analogue for stormlight. I'm using lumens as the unit because that's the only way to tell how much stormlight there is.

Guys, GUYS!!! Obviously, the only way for the Stormlight Archive books to end is with a surprise Cthulhu attack! I mean, seriously. Come ON! All the clues are there! Crabs, storms, and insane people uncovering sacrificial plots by other insane people!

Hm... Lumens PER cubic meter would actually measure stormlight intensity, not the actual amount. I revise my hastily-thought idea to Lumen-litres (Lumens times volume in Liters). If stormlight is throwing off 1 lumen in a 2 liter area, it would stand to reason that it would throw off twice as many lumens in a 1-liter area. This is very similar to the ideal gas law, which is probably the best real-world analogue to stormlight (massless matter). Of course, I'm a little loopy from lack of sleep, so I may have just made something up.

I vouch for lumens per cubic meter as a measure of stormlight quantities. Simple, yet powerful and flexible.

Oh boy, I'm salivating now. No, seriously. Is that normal?

I don't think he would be. Going off of what Amaram said at the end of WoR, Gavilar was very likely trying to bring about the desolation in order to reestablish the supremacy of Vorinism. To me, that type of behavior is enough in and of itself to bar Gavilar from becoming a Radiant. Also, the possibility of him seeking out and capturing an unmade to further this agenda further complicates his ability to have become a bondsmith. Edit: dvoraen hit the nail on the head.

Also, could a radiant summon a shardic motorcycle? It would be called either the shardcycle or the shardmobile. I just want Kaladin to scream "To the Shardmobile!!!"

There's an app for that. Stormlight Emporium, to be exact. Your #1 Gemstone Cuttery and Stormlight Supplier since the shattering of Adonalsium. They recently created a network of Stormlight pumps to refill dunn spheres, as well.

Truthwatching? Renarin was able to count down to the everstorm with to-the-second accuracy. Why couldn't a Stone Shaman with more experience use it to see where the blade would end up once it was taken from Szeth?

It's Rocky! He's got nerves of steel. Anyways, what if the Stone Shamans use the the truthwatcher blade to find it? The surge of illumination could allow them to track where it is.

Does this apply to bonded spren? I'd think that a radiant could have atypical interactions with their spren.

No! I don't wanna be tortured! I'll tell you anything, just don't make me read them! Please, I beg you!

On a not-quite-so-related note, could Kaladin lash Syl in order to create a makeshift gravity hammer? That would be pretty awesome.

Chief does have a rechargeable energy shield, along with a bunch of nifty enhancements, like cloaking, dashing, hard light shield, and the ever-overpowered armor lock. He'd more than hold his own.

I would definitely have soulcasting. I would soulcast a pile of gold, then sell it in order to afford college and a Tesla. Or maybe I'd just soulcast the Tesla. Maybe.
