  1. So what happens when an invested person drinks a lot of booze? Are they unable to get drunk?
  2. The lord ruler was also really, REALLY old. It's possible that the particular aspect of feruchemy that kept him alive for all that time only worked on Scadrial, or else kept him from being able to actually perform whatever action worldhopping involved. Maybe it's one person at a time? And considering that the heralds damaged the oathpact, I'd imagine that they could worldhop.
  3. There's a discussion on this here: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/13169-povs-for-introduction-in-next-3-books/ Personally, I'm pulling for a Nalan POV in book 3 and a Parshendi (Eshonai, maybe) in book 4.
  4. I have 3 words and 8 letters for you - FUS RO DAH!!! A weaponized voice would definitely count as an extra and unexpected power.
  5. Maybe each soldier has to come up with their own catchy nickname. Kaladin Stormblessed Rock the Chef Lopen the One-Armed Herdazian (or is it Lopen the Gancho?) Teft the old weirdo Moash the vengeful Sigzil the unmanly Leyten the blacksmith Earless Jaks Dunny the singer Maps the navigator Skar the Scarred Dabid Moolie Rlain the traitor Herbert the Pervert Nice observation, by the way.
  6. At this rate, we should just make Two Steps From Hell the official orchestra of the Cosmere. Seriously.
  7. YES, YES!!! Oh my god YES!!!
  8. - Kaladin in Prison (and approving the assassination) - Dalinar Uniting (some of) the Highprinces And some joke ones. - In-book WoR and TWoK - Jasnah Returning
  9. I do wonder why Renarin is book 10. Is Brandon going to pull a Sazed on us?
  10. Could yelig-nar be ymir? He's the leader of the frost giants in Norse mythology. Pretty evil guy.
  11. So. Apparently, Ivory is Slenderman
  12. Hoser, I think that you've hit the nail on the head. Now, I just wish that somebody would hit Szeth on the head. Maybe that will help (I just want to see Szeth get hit on the head).
  13. I don't. Problem solved.
  14. One must unite them - Dalinar One must protect them - Kaladin One must lead them - ??? Who leads them? Not Szeth, Shallan, Eshonai, or Jasnah. Probably not Lift. A Herald, maybe? Oh... I know! THE LOPEN!!!
  15. The waiting... the insufferable waiting!!! It's been so long since I read an SA book that my page-flipping arm is getting flabby!
  16. Quite obviously, Vasher was Dalinar's wife, died protecting Renarin, and was returned on Nalthis. ... I should probably stop now...
  17. Well, considering that Nalan asked Szeth why he didn't recognize one of his own gods, I'm going to bet that he won't be defying Nalan's orders any time soon. While Nalan might have a good reason for killing surgebinders, he's clearly unhinged (slitting Gawx's throat, slapping his subordinates), just like all the other heralds are. I just don't see a path to redemptiom for him
  18. Not really. After all, he's traveling with insane quasi-herald (that's what I'm calling them for now) Nalan who's been going around Roshar slaughtering the very radiants who are now necessary to win the desolation so that he can slaughter even more high-ranking powerful people and has been given a super dee duper overpowered sword who literally exists with the sole purpose to slaughter every evil person in the history of ever that will constantly beg to kill every "evil" person in the vicinity. Plus he considers the heralds as a viable substitute for the almighty (after all, they are HIS heralds). Not really much room to grow a backbone, if I say so myself.
  19. ...sorry guys, I couldn't resist a grumpy cat meme. I think that it's a matter of him not trying. If he does kill the Stone Shamans, he can kiss redemption good bye.
  20. I doubt that they would be that obvious. Vasher was meant to be in Stormlight from his character's inception, which probably makes him an anomaly in that he uses those types of phrases. They're probably background characters who only appeared for a short amount of time. There's probably at least one in Warbreaker, likely in the palace of the returned. Maybe one of the priests?
  21. I used to be an knight radiant like you... but then I took a dagger in the eye
  22. I was more under the impression that Helaran curved his trajectory specifically so that he could kill more of Amaram's soldiers. Instead of going straight to Amaram, he stayed along the front line of the battle. So yeah, purposeful and unnecessary. He deserved to die in the manner that he did. On a side note, maybe he'll be best buds with Sadeas in the afterlife? They'll bond over their mutual hatred of Kaladin and their knife-to-the-eye deaths. Maybe?
  23. That's Kalak. I doubt that it'll be him, as he already had a POV in TWoK after the "last" desolation.
  24. Batman. Everything's better with Batman. We don't even need to know why he's on Roshar. After all, he's the freaking Batman.
