    Nah, it doesn't seem condescending or mean to me. I desperately want Nightblood to have his own character arc. There is such a rich potential for conflict if Szeth meets Zahel. And I was a Torturer of Heralds? Darn, must have missed that one. /shakes fist YOU WIN THIS TIME, HERALDS!

    I love Teen Titans! I own all five seasons on DVD and must have rewatched them hundreds of times. Is anyone else a fan of Doctor Who, classic or new? What about the novels of Michael Crichton?

    Warbreaker explicitly says that the Returned's memories are "fragmented when they jump across the Iridescent Wave and come back to life." To me, this sounds exactly like the process of a spren leaving the Cognitive Realm. Which is cool, because I love the mental image of Lightsong standing in Shadesmar and making wisecracks to a bunch of Cryptics.

    I know that this was a joke, but I have to say... these few lines made my heart twinge. Nightblood is a sword, and he likes killing, but he does care about the people he considers his friends. In Soviet Roshar, lawyers prosecute with Shardblades.

    Maybe we have it all wrong. Maybe Shin attributes--young appearance and rock obsession--aren't genetic or cultural at all. Maybe they're a side effect of another factor, one we haven't seen. It is the difference between a correlation and causation. Granted, rocks are cool things and many children are entranced by them. I just wanted to throw an alternative hypothesis out there.

    Making a pun with Tvlakv's name? Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen. Off topic, but just the other day I was thinking about modern television and the names of programs. If you think about it, I mean really think about it, TV laks shows beginning with "v".

    I think the comparison is apt. I just didn't think I had anything to add. This is also true. Nightblood is far better matched to Szeth than Kaladin. (I'm really getting swept from one point of view to the next on this thread, aren't I? )
