  1. somewhere luminous and cloudy "Welcome, Professor Cardinal. Now that you have... apparently chosen to die, you have passed on to the true next life. Welcome to the Kingdom of Heaven." "My head hurts... wait, where am I?" "The Kingdom of Heaven. I'm St. Peter and I'm here to show you the ropes. Now, I know what you're thinking, but now that you're free of Calamity's corruption nothing you did as an Epic is held against you. We judge you solely as Thomas Cardinal, and-" "The idea of 'heaven' is a childish comfort for the superstitious." "...hah, that's not an uncommon reaction. But as you can see, it's very real. Now, let us just-" "There is no reprieve from the tyranny of death other than my Army of Light." "...now now, you seem to be stuck in ol' 'Lightwards' mode. Remember, Calamity has no influence here, and... what are you doing. Your pockets are empty, Professor Cardinal." "I need my gun. You are to become my first Warrior before I take over." "Professor, please. I'm trying to tell you-" "QUIET! You are speaking to your better." "..." "Where are my dinosaurs?" speaking into a radio : "...hello? Is this our colleagues downstairs? We have a Code Deathwish for you to come pick up."
  2. "It took you three hours to come up with 'I am the Master of Death, here to free you from its dark tyranny and lead you into the Light'?" "I'm starting to feel like we're just putting him out of his misery. He's like a lame duck." Dang. Why does all the good stuff have to make little kids cry?
  3. The AU battle where Lightwards has to fight both Remington Springfield and his snarky, bullseye-hitting, trigger-happy daughter is a firm stomp in Team Springfield's favor. They don't need his weakness. He just can never get halfway through one of his speeches without getting shot. Is Umbrella Academy suitable for younger audiences? I need to know whether to watch it alone or to introduce it to everyone as the new family show for our evening group viewings.
  4. Every author of an unfinished fanfiction I have ever clicked on. Every. Single. One.
  5. There's a very magical moment that tends to fly by unnoticed amid all the work: the moment at which a new place stops being a new place and actually becomes home. You probably haven't quite hit that point yet, but it sounds like you're a huge step closer to it. Hope it passes by soon.
  6. I spend enough time googling things like "Most painful ways to kill people" and "Most misogynist ways to refer to women" that anyone who doesn't know I write a lot of villains would absolutely despise me based on my search history.

    1. Kidpen

      Kidpen

Because misogynistic people actively spend time searching on Google to find out what to call women.

They might. You don't know. :P

  7. Thanks to you I'm just over here picturing that prophecy wheel with Bill Cipher at the center, but with Calamity and all of our character icons. ...Jade's might have to be a static image, though. I don't know if prophetic iconography supports the .gif format.
  8. It's always nice to have made a positive impression on someone's life. Or rather, to realize it; I like to think we all do on a daily basis, even if we aren't cognizant of the fact. I just realized that Wendy is Sam if Sam were the daughter of Remington Springfield.
  9. For the past month my mother has been doing nothing but reading books about autism and reading aloud all of the traits that she thinks that both she and I share, so yes, you could say I've been face to face with this concept before. What's your realization?
  10. PROPOSAL: An isekai anime but it's about Nightwielder dropped in the Cosmere. Every episode starts with him refusing to go outside and having to be compelled by circumstances to participate in the plot. Female characters are infatuated him for literally no reason, but he never notices because he's too busy cowering away from the sun. Someone start a kickstarter, we can make this happen.
  11. Valentine's Day is over. I propose to make this thread exclusively about @Zurvanite's cat until next February.
  12. Worldhoppers visiting Roshar and encountering a certain sword: (Stormlight spoilers)
  13. There are mental Epics in the Reckonerverse. It's actually one of us, Edgedancer, who asked the question at an AMA that confirmed it. Source. And yes, it is an interesting concept. It might require some careful planning in an RP environment so the character doesn't hijack someone else's character without the writer's permission, but it could be really neat to see. It kind of reminds me of something that's in RWBY that I won't say outright because spoilers.
  14. The Bandersnatch has said before (can't remember where--I'm sorry) that not everything he RAFOs will necessarily show up in a story. This is because he likes leaving himself the option to either choose to reveal a detail or not as he sees fit, rather than spilling the beans early at a signing. Essentially, once the question's been answered, there's no unanswering it, but as long as the question exists he has the freedom to choose how and where he wants it answered. Hope that makes sense. I too find myself frustrated by the number of these we have, especially in the context of the Reckoners Trilogy, while I also understand why he does it.
  15. He's read bits and pieces here and there, including Sam and Altermind's confrontation at the meeting. Just enough to create garbage-tier ships, evidently.
  16. Rubies are red, And through fair or foul weather I WILL UNITE THEM, STORMFATHER I WILL BRING MEN TOGETHER
  17. This past week I've gotten a spike of kudos on my Archive Of Our Own account, and the other day I passed 550 as a net total for my account. I'm pretty pleased. (Over half of that kudos count is from just two Undertale one-shots I posted, though. It just goes to show what kind of exposure can come from writing in a popular fandom.)
