Do not presume to mock Jingleberry, lesser mortal. Her power is greater than even thou knowest. Probably not, but bear in mind that this is the same RP where a glittery woman made it rain pancakes, a college professor raised a dinosaur army, and an Epic panda is besieging The Dalles. (May I say just say that we have an incredimazible GM for being cool enough to allow these things. )

Pretty much the best Backtrack can hope for at this point is that Reader's bullet gives him a cool scar. That, or he actually meets a woman who finds his patheticness somewhat attractive. Aside from Saccharine, what other Yandere characters do we have?

"Megan! Come with me to the new diner! It's trendy!" * sigh * "For the sake of argument, what makes this diner so trendy all of a sudden?" "Because I decided I like eating there. Fact 1: I like eating there. Fact 2: I am a trendsetter, as evidenced by everyone wearing hip sunglasses like me. Conclusion: that diner is trendy and cool and you should go out with me!" You know what would be ironic? If MV ultimately did fall for Backtrack, but only once Calamity corrupted her into an axe-crazy yandere.

You're leaving... forever? Your presence will most certainly be missed. Farewell, and good luck with your beckoning real life.

"But Megan! If you don't go on a date with me, somebody else will! I'm hot stuff these days." "You? Seriously?" "Yeah! I saw a girl who had sunglasses just like mine the other day! I'm becoming hip." "No, you saw a girl wearing pink sunglasses. Which is entirely logical and not at all surprising, because pink sunglasses are girly."

Only if he gets to be a badchull panda who breaks free of Panda's control. That would make sense. Lucentia seems like the type who would try to use her involvement in the CM war to bolster her reputation; maybe Lucentia could begin proclaiming that she' responsible for the destruction of Portland? It would cement her fearsome reputation, but it would also draw Epics like Blackwave and the Destructors to Astoria.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Kobold King replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted. Unfortunately, Rosharan dolphins possess gemhearts. Every year the Alethi slaughter them by the thousands. I wish for delusions of grandeur. -
Again, logical enough. I'm just trying to think of good alternatives to self-destruction for her. We have too few decent Epics for the ones we have to go around blowing themselves up. (Thanks. ) Since I'm apparently spamming the Question thread with a bunch of questions any way: does Scribbler use her inkokinesis to put the words in her skin, or does she require a tattoo artist?

That makes sense. Would it be possible for her to create a tattoo that would permanently prohibit her from harming other human beings, though? My mental images for these characters just keep getting weirder. Could you add Scribbler to the Epics of Oregon thread? I can't seem to find her bio or description at the moment.

For a more serious question... is there any reason she can't simply make a tattoo that would compel her to be a nice person? It seems like going full Doofenshmirtz with a chest tattoo might be overkill for her particular problem. Everyone assumed that Scribbler shunned crop tops and bikinis out of modesty... no one could have predicted the truth.

Scribbler, as it so happens, has a self-destruct button. (and for some reason it's not her belly button, because that would have been too bizarre even for this RP.)

I like him! (I was going to remark on some sort of "awesome Silence reference," but I can't remember what that's all about. ) I like that his weakness isn't the presence of an object so much as the absence of an object. That's a neat type of weakness implied by the novel but, as far as I can tell, seldomly thought of or used in the RP. To be honest though, I'm not crystal clear on his powers. (Probably more a result of my being tired from a hard day's work then an error on your part.) To get this straight: he is capable of causing people within a certain radius to experience the same five seconds in a continuous loop, for up to a minute of relative time. Is that close to accurate, or am I hugely misunderstanding what you wrote? On another note entirely... sorry guys, I'd hoped to get the next Portland post up tonight, but that's not going to happen. I've been very busy these past couple of days--today in particular. And while I had every intention of finishing the next post tonight, RL work has to come first for now. I'll be working hard to deliver a very important Portland post soon.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Kobold King replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you're perhaps disproportionately awed by that achievement. -
It's been confirmed that Brandon's writing a sequel to Warbreaker, and he's said many times that the tentative title for said sequel is "Nightblood." He's also given a rough idea of what the sequel would be about, but regrettably I can't pass on that info until you finish the book. The sequel will apparently build off of revelations that you only learn at the end of Warbreaker. Revolution wouldn't use Nightblood at all, as she's a very strict pacifist. Nightblood doesn't have the mind-altering effect that Calamity has, so she couldn't be corrupted into using the sword. She'd definitely feel very sick upon touching it. Sam would also feel nauseous upon touching the sword, but... I think she'd adopt Vasher's trick and start leaving Nightblood out where nasty Epics would see and draw him. Lightwards, Aldo, and probably Cricket would all kill themselves with the sword, without a doubt. The only interaction I'm not quite sure of is Backtrack, but I like to think he'd get away with just a spat of nausea. He'd probably throw up on Reader's carpet.

I want a t-shirt that says that. Nightblood is one of my favorite characters from any novel. He's funny, founded upon an awesome premise, and above all else, immensely sympathetic. He has the innocence of a small child, but his identity is built around a dark task he's mentally incapable of performing. There are implied layers to his character we're never quite treated to, which makes me all the more excited for his namesake sequel. I noticed that in the post, actually. That she slowly stopped thinking of her real name as she fought. It was a nice touch. All the win. Then we can give the ol' Nightblood test to the rest of Oregon characters. (I'm actually quite curious as to what would happen if Funtimes held Nightblood.)

Plot twist: it's the same tree, and the books share a setting.
-
Nothing takes away the sting of a horrifying pony murder like an adorable comic. Just look at it. Some may call it sappy, I call it "why Fluttershy is best pony." I mean, honestly: I adore the Fluttershy-Discord friendship in the show. I just think it's awesome that in a market filled with superheroes pummeling their foes into submission, there's a cartoon that teaches befriending your enemies as a perfectly legitimate option.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Kobold King replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted, but you become trapped within the books and are forced to live out their plots forevermore. I wish for veto power on all curses. -

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Kobold King replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
No you don't. Seriously, I did farm work in just a thin sleet this morning, and it was cold, windy, and miserable. When I lived in Illinois I regularly had to work in near-blizzard weather. Seriously? You still wish it? Fine. On your head it be. It snows, but you have no adequate winter gear and all heating mechanisms in your house fail. I wish to live in a perpetually sunny and tropical environment. -
It sets a bad precedent to let Voidus to govern the RP by holding Phoenix's beard hostage, but Nighthound's death is too big an opportunity to pass up.
