  1. I've never been there, but from what I've heard Australia seems a bit... inhospitable. If you don't mind me prying into your personal habitat, are venomous creatures like spiders or snakes a problem where you live? Hmm. Maybe I should read the rest of the books. (If nothing else, it would give me an excuse to speculate how Oregon characters would fare against one another in the Hunger Games. ) I think either would be cool, though I'm perhaps biased towards Funtimes. I don't think there's a story in the world that couldn't benefit from Funtimes' introduction. That's a neat idea. What are Susan Gillespie's powers again? I believe the behind-the-scenes interview with the writer said that her power was a form of precognition, but I'd have to search for it to be sure...
  2. Sharders of the future will see me as a visionary. A visionary unhealthily obsessed with milk and cookies, but a visionary nonetheless.
  3. I liked The Hunger Games. The first-person present tense writing style bugged me at first, but I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. Cool. I'll listen to it once I get my headset out. "Gillespie the Super-Spy"? Doesn't matter if she isn't actually a spy. I think the rhyme is good enough to ignore technicalities like that.
  4. I think it mentioned that in the chapter on platypus-jousting.
  5. It's a travel book called In a Sunburned Country. I have no idea how accurate or inaccurate it might be. Um... yes? It's a book called Sophie's World, and I'm not that far into it so far. It's cool so far, though.
  6. I haven't seen the movie--or read the series past the first book, for that matter. But I'll be keeping an eye on YouTube to see if the song gets released on its own. General work and business; nothing interesting. Been reading up on Australia, (very) basic philosophy, and the life cycles of walruses and other Arctic critters.
  7. Backtrack/Trixie... an unconventional ship, that's for sure. I seem to remember answering this question too... which is bad, because I can't remember precisely how I answered. If I recall correctly, then Claudius has been with him since he left Sacramento in around 2016. He's currently the oldest Warrior he has.
  8. That is an acceptable headcanon. Another headcanon is that Backtrack hated every second of his time in Equestria, as his scattered glimpses of the past + some unfortunate misunderstandings convinced him that Nightmare Moon had been ruling the country for the past thousand years. (Thanks. I've gotten to the point where I can make those in just a few minutes, as opposed to the hour-long undertakings they used to be.)
  9. So, my little sister was watching My Little Pony earlier, so I kept hearing snippets from the episode "Boast Busters." I love Trixie. This sprang to mind unbidden.
  10. It just seems like you're a considerably active and well-contributing member. I'd wager that everyone who's been on here longer than a week knows who you are. And yeah, I could totally support a holiday-themed writing prompt. Are you thinking of a specific holiday like Christmas, or leaving it open for other winters festivities like Hanukkah?
  11. I second that. ...And I just went twenty minutes believing you were Edgedancer. The switched names all over the place are really starting to get to me.
  12. Are you sensing what I'm sensing? Could it be... Jingleberry's first on-screen appearance?
  13. I think that about sums up our "alicorn rule." Alas, I do not believe that there's a decent draconequus creator on the web. Believe me, I've looked. I'm chuckling just from the description of such a comic, though. Maybe Epic!Nathan could have some sort of meta-power, like mimicing other Epics' abilities or nullifying them like CM? Surely you of all people could whip up a quick Epic to alicornify. I bet PP would look neat as an alicorn. Unrelated, but I found a text file with re-written lyrics for an Oregon-style "Stop the Bats" remix. I apparently got interrupted before I could actually turn it into a comic and forgot all about it.
  14. We definitely don't follow our "High Epics = Alicorns" rule very often. If it could ever be called a rule. Lightwards is a High Epic, yet he is an earth pony. Backtrack's a very minor Epic, but he's a pegasus. Sam and Revolution are both vanillas, and yet they're respectively a unicorn and a pegasus. Mobius is an alicorn, but she doesn't even have a prime invincibility. And just to top off the chaos our ponies exist in, Ray is arguably Edgedancer's least powerful Epic, yet she's an alicorn while Nighthound and Lucentia are earth ponies. With this logic, Mrs. Trattner would have to be an alicorn and Baxter Game should be a full-blown draconequus. I like the comic.
  15. I have fortunately not had to deal with many people in my life, so I wouldn't know. I hope that if such people exist, they're few and far between. I've looked through countless character creators on the Interwebz, and I don't think I've found one yet with as much versatility as General Zoi's Pony Creator. Let's see... what other Epics could stand to be alicorn-ified? We've already established Lightwards is better as an earth pony, Aldo already struts around like an Equestrian princess, even Revolution's gotten to be an evil alicorn... Ooh, I've got it!
  16. It's almost sad how desperately Lucentia wants to be invited to parties. I like her, though I don't believe the chibi doesn't fit Funtimes nearly as well as the pony does. The Pony Creator is far more flexible with far more avenues of customization. A character like Doctor Funtimes is unique enough to need as much customization as can be feasibly packed into a creator. I keep trying to do Backtrack, but his chibi just came out looking... weird. So instead, here he is as an alicorn, a position which he most certainly has not earned.
  17. Ah, yes... let me take a look at the RP again, and I'll either write a very brief post for him or give a general idea what his response would be. In other news... Happy Thanksgiving to all!
  18. "Uh oh! Knee twitches, then tail swirls, then mane bristles? That means we're about to get trapped in a loop-de-loop pocket universe! Only it doesn't actually mean we'll be in her pocket, though that would be pretty bad too..." Somehow I doubt Nathan would find her Pinkie Sense very comforting. It's probably a little too close to precognition for him.
  19. Am I the only one who thinks Funtimes and Pinkie Pie would get along almost scarily well?
  20. "We now present to you, Princess Doctor Funtimes!" (She's awesome. )
  21. Headcanon accepted. I toyed with the chibi creator a little bit. I don't like it as much as the Pony Creator--oddly enough, I feel I was able to get Sam and Lightwards' equine versions far closer to the characters than the chibi creator allows.
  22. There. Sam post done.
  23. Nice! I may have to take a look at that chibi creator myself some time. You know, eventually. I've been busy writing the next Portland post today. Again, really sorry this is taking so long guys. Not only is it a longer, harder-to-write post than usual, it's also come right at a time where I find writing difficult. But, soon it will be posted. Soon. Soooooon...
  24. That's disgraceful even for spambots. I mean... yikes. They've made the jump from vaguely defined "love magic" to rampant, all-too-real immorality.
  25. Can we call it "Iron Barkeep"?
