  1. Way better than my vague idea of an Epic whose sole power is inhibiting other people's eyesight and making them need glasses. Upvote! Mwahahaha.
  2. Sam with glasses? Darn. Now I have to find a way to make this canon.
  3. I had it almost entirely written up the day before yesterday, but lost it. I'll get on it as soon as I take care of some RL errands in a minute. We should save this and call it the Trattner Contingency Plan, so we sound competent and official in front of new players.
  4. Agh, I still need a little time. How 'bout this: if I don't get a chance to get it fully written by next Monday, I'll just scrap what I had immediately planned and Mailliw can go next.
  5. Just wait till Lightwards goes to The Dalles like everyone else. Having trouble finding a character that hasn't already been ponified. :/ Maybe I'll load up the ol' creator later and try a Mrs. Trattner pony. (Whom I am morally obligated to render as an alicorn. ) Can the island-creator call himself Archie McPelago? Setting aside my brief Grand Galloping Gala flashback-- ...I'd guess one of her vanillas. Most likely Nathan, because seeing Nathan having an irrational hatred for somebody at this point would be hilarious.
  6. Agh... so much... to reply too... * white noise * Just for the record, Lightwards is every bit as opposed to bikinis as Lieutenant Mitchins, if for different reasons. The two of them would likely get along well together, despite the fact that the two would repeatedly attempt to murder each other. (Mitchins would probably succeed once or twice.) I... I cannot get over how adorable she is. Nice! There could potentially be confusion with another Chaos, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Did the Financier create Chaos' archipelago as well, or do we have an unrelated island-creating Epic running amok? Yep. I love the idea. Maybe we could nerf him/her with a Newtonian "every action has an equal but opposite reaction" effect. Perhaps using the power to cause one person to love another automatically causes another person to hate the target. Therefore, if the Child Epic used the power to make someone love him, then his subconscious would pick out another, roughly analogous individual to hate him. Example: he uses the power on Lightwards, causing the stuffy green necromancer to harbor inexplicable and unshakable affection for him. But as a price, Lucentia the Diamond Queen develops a furious hatred and irrational desire to murder the Child Epic at her earliest opportunity.
  7. I have been playing chess for years and I have no idea what either of those are. Quiver, do you have basic understanding on how the individual pieces move?
  8. I put much effort into trying to keep Sam from becoming a Sympathetic Sue. Wes, should he ever be released from Lightwards' control, would become a stunning example of The Dog Bites Back. (Why don't we have a TV Tropes page already? ) I'd say go for it.
  9. Remington has shades of the Stoic Woobie. Epic!Sam would become Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds. Also, Ari is incredibly awesome. Who's going to do the honors of ponifying her?
  10. "Life before death. Journey before destination. Strength before weakness." "I will abuse any powers or privileges granted to me."
  11. Saw this in the "You Know You're a Sanderfan When" thread: I wonder if he's referencing WHIO or directly referencing the novel...
  12. Artist's representation of Plot Bunny:
  13. Epic Name: Plot Bunny Passive Ability: Conceiving of a highly detailed storyline filled with well-developed characters and intense action sequences. Primary Ability: Causing all events within a certain radius of her (around the size of one state) to reenact the storyline in her head. Secondary Ability: Negating any event which would interfere with her narrative.
  14. Funtimes could probably make Nathan his own jetpack. Backtrack, were he to acquire such an item, would inevitably run out of fuel at the peak of his flight.
  15. Are you playing for Shards?
  16. This has been another episode of "Hasty and Uninformed Statements by Kobold King!" I thought we were explaining the Lost One's youth to the slower aging enjoyed by Epics. If Fatebreaker's getting Pan, can I call dibs on Epic!Felix?
  17. Sounds good to me. Right. I think we established early on that he'd passively gift his agelessness to all vanillas in his vicinity. TwiLyght, what would you think about briefly mentioning a flickering shadow after the Unicyclist gains his powers? He'll be the first newly awakened Epic in the RP.
  18. Ooh, I like this. Should he be aware of his shadow and its movements, and thus the only person in Oregon instantly aware of new Epics as they appear? So here are the powers we have thus far: Flight Enhanced speed and hand-eye coordination (useful for swordfights) Accelerated healing Epic-seeking shadow projection (passive ability) Maybe his healing could be connected to his eternal youth--his healing factor prevents his body from changing, like Mundivore?
  19. I'd be happy with Fatebreaker playing Pan. Ooh, here's an idea: any Epic who manifests powers within a wide radius of Pan will sporadically see Pan's shadow out of the corner of their eyes. (The radius could potentially cover the whole of Oregon, if people like TwiLyght are willing to foreshadow it when characters of theirs gain powers.) While adults will only see the shadow flicker briefly in their peripheral vision, child Epics are capable of touching the shadow; by clasping hands with it, they'll be instantly brought to Pan's island.
  20. Until we can figure out how to make reflective ponies in the creator, Lillian at least is ponification-proof.
  21. I love them both. Are Lillian's clothes reflective as well? Do either of them wear flashy costumes, or do they wear normal attire?
  22. If the group as a whole were powerful or unassailable enough, she might decide it's better to tolerate them (and complain heartily about them) than to waste time and resources extirpating them.
  23. * is embarrassed for not getting references * Unless you mean the reference to Rufio from Hook, which I most certainly understand. Perhaps the Lost could live on an island off the coast of Astoria? A gang of superpowered children could add some much-needed chaos to Lucentia's rigid regime.
  24. How much more slowly do Epics age? We don't really have any solid examples in canon. We know Steelheart's hair was greying, but we don't know how old he was when he got his powers. That said, I love that ability. Would that be the Pan Epic? I'd definitely support Epic!Pan stopping people from aging in his vicinity. Other must-have abilities would be flight, enhanced speed, and enhanced hand-eye coordination. Perhaps his powers only function when he feels a connection to some sort of maternal figure, as a nod to Pan's fascination with Wendy in the classic novel? (I still think Epic!Pan should be Blackwave the Terrible's archnemesis, by the way.)
