  1. She's a lonely introvert with the power to reshape the fabric of the universe in her own image. He's a ruthless megalomaniac with the power to bind thousands of people to his will. Together they'll rule the world... and learn a little about true love along the way. (I wonder if anyone would actually buy a romance novel with that description on the book jacket. )
  2. I defer to the wise judgement of the Shipmistress. I prefer far less disturbing ships.
  3. My first thought upon reading that was that Milton Towren was actually knocked unconscious in the scene with the school bullies, and the entire RP has been his comatose dream. CorpseMaker represents the bullies who tormented him, Lightwards represents his cruel and apathetic teachers, while Funtimes represents his inner child. The various Thoughttown Epics represent what different parts of Milton aspire to be. Flashpoint, simple but kind and well-loved, is what Milton's more emotional side wishes for himself. Sightline, the mysterious badchull with a tragic past capable of taking on any bully, is what Milton fantasizes himself being. Intervention represents a darker part of himself that might turn to delinquency to avoid his troubles, either by participating in gang violence or by engaging in underage drinking. Scorch represents the part of Milton that wishes to be loved and accepted by his bullies--a part of him that died when they knocked him out. ... You know, I've probably been reading too many WMG pages.
  4. New Orleans would have been cool, and it's often been associated with the voodoo/witchcraft motif that the Coven seems to embrace. Of course, I'd be excited about pretty much any city if it was going to be starring in a Reckoners novel. If Calamity was to be entirely set in a random featureless field in England, I'd be squealing with glee as much as if it were anywhere else.
  5. Awesome news! Here's hoping we get to see the Coven, the group of Epics that took over the southern states according to Steelheart.
  6. "Oh please. Next you'll be arguing for the existence of Doctor Funtimes." "Actually, there's a substantial body of evidence--" "There was no such thing as Doctor Funtimes!"
  7. How about "Excidium"? It's a Latin word for utter destruction, especially deliberate destruction perpetrated by an army or a conqueror. While personally I love the name "Desolation" best, here are a few more random destruction-y names: Ravager Baneful Baleful Duststorm Dustlord Ruin Of course, you could always incorporate his search for an Epic name into his storyline, à la the Deathpoint thread. We can hope so. Imagine if he did reference Oregon, but only by briefly mentioning an Epic with the ability to generate infinite Sausage McMuffins.
  8. My favorites are Dakota Wheat and London Finch, though the name "Angel" is pretty good too. (Anyone who takes Timeport out of the world is an angel in my book. ) I like Twi's suggestion too though. "Zoe Finch," perhaps?
  9. I like that picture. It looks less like a typical icon and more like a full illustration than most, but it could definitely look. It gives an immediate impression of badchullery. I found a site that gave a bunch of randomized female names, copy-and-pasted here for your convenience: I'm fond of "Dakota Wheat" myself. But since I named a character "Revolution Sunburst Jones," I guess that's not really surprising.
  10. That could be a problem. Wes can get away with not having a name in his posts, but humans tend to be more self-aware than raptors. Any particular ideas you're kicking around?
  11. I have no ideas at the moment, but that'd awesome. Does she have a name yet?
  12. You're more coherent than I was for the first twenty minutes after reading it. Want me to invite you to the PM discussion?
  13. I'd be inclined to agree with you were it not for the Pink Pinkness.
  14. < Here's an awesome superhero/villain name generator on Seventh Sanctum. You can get some pretty sweet names out of it; my personal favorite of the names I've generated is "Plastique Dolphin," which I thoroughly intend to use in the Reckoners RPG at some point. >
  15. According to a recent estimate, there could be as many as 5.3 *trillion* habitable planets within the observable universe. If only 1% of those worlds bore life in the same abundance as our own, and if only 1% of that percent gave rise to life as intelligent as humanity, then there could be as many as 530 *million* distinct alien civilizations waiting to be discovered and contacted. Think on that on the next starry night.

  16. "Obliteration, we need your help!" "I'm sword of busy at the moment." "Nightwielder, this manuscript is terrible. Your novel is never seeing the light of day." "That's the idea." Why didn't Fortuity laugh at the joke? Because he saw the punchline coming. Why didn't Deathpoint vaporize the comedian telling jokes about him? Because he missed the point.
  17. What did Prof say during an argument with Regalia? "Now, now. You're just projecting."
  18. Or Obliteration.
  19. I wanted to correct that issue, but unfortunately I'm committed to making pony pictures that are true to canon. Interesting fact though, Ray's facial expression is based on what my face looks like when reading a Red post. I had to use a mirror and a discomforting re-read to figure out what it looks like.
  20. Hooray! In celebration of our monumental post count (and the fact that Fatebreaker finally seems to be pulling a Nighthound assassination plot ), here's a creepy pony picture of Ray, Nighthound, and Red. I'm just happy we're not seeing Drunk!Nighthound.
  21. I have little to say in response, but I loved it. It improves the way I read the scene (which I didn't think was possible, seeing how much I love it). That's the highest praise I can bestow upon a fan theory, and I was among the first of six people thus far who upvoted it as a sign of approval.
  22. You know what else we have to look forward to?
  23. If Sam asked, would Funtimes fill the Museum with stained glass windows commemorating the event?
  24. FDR's weakness would have been fear itself.
