Much simpler than the tense for the present person asking the past person who sees the future to do something in the past, I can tell you that.

Calamity (The Reckoners #3) Takes Place in Atlanta
Kobold King replied to Argent's topic in The Reckoners
Hark; Team Sanderson has spoken. Until the Author himself speaks otherwise, "Hotlanta" is canon. We need to get this to the wiki pronto, people. -
Voidgaze is probably the least likely to take up polyandry. Big Al is so sweet that no other man is remotely appealing to her. Interesting question. I guess it depends on-- Firefight spoilers A group of wives or concubines married to the same man, especially in the courts of medieval Muslim royalty. Technically we're using the word entirely wrong when we use it to describe a group of males married to the same woman; that's happened so seldom in history that I don't think there's a specific word for it.

True. They'd be very cute as friends. I laughed at that far more than I should.

I like to think so. Fortuity and Backtrack make pretty good opposites, though. Yeah, so far Backtrack and the Momentum Twins have comprised most of the current crossover between Portland and The Dalles. It'll be interesting to see the other connections explored more thoroughly. Especially if exploring this involves Backtrack entering Thoughttown. There are many myriad ways in which Backtrack could get himself into trouble there.

That sounds ominous. Will it be a job he'll enjoy? I think if Steve Lawrence had received Steelheart's powers, he'd be a very different and far worse person. As it is his powers have only a moderately corrupting effect, bringing out his most cowardly and apathetic personality traits. Even at his worst he has no desire to murder. If he had to deal with the corruption of a High Epic's level of power, he'd probably turn into Fortuity.

I wouldn't feel particularly guilty, except that there's a healthy dose of procrastination on my part as well. As the RP at large becomes more eloquent, popular, and iconic over the forum at large, I tend to get a bit more anxious about posting. It's not a big deal and I can overcome that anxiety when I try, but it does tend to slow me down. (I'm occasionally visited by Writer's Block as well, which doesn't help at all.) Yes; Backtrack could track you to your current location, provided that you're not a teleporter. And even if you were, he could peer into your head at a certain moment and could find out where precisely you were heading. His potential for tracking people is almost limitless; he could even uncover the location of an astral projector like Regalia or Neverthere if he tried. That's a very interesting point, actually. I wonder if there's actually a connection; it would certainly fit the fear-centric theme Calamity seems to follow.

Augh, sorry. I've been working harder in Real Life here lately, and I've been putting a lot of my free time into the Question thread and lengthy PM conversations. I'll really try to get something written. Sorry, guys. I confess I don't quite understand the question. He can definitely use his power to track people; he could potentially use it to chart out a person's entire day.

I'm surprised that Funtimes didn't call dibs on the feathered headdress Hotwire wore. That sounds like a name Backtrack would come up with if he were caught outdoors at night. Maybe the Scary Owl was listening to his sobbing.

That would probably be cheating. As would dividing Tatooine into seven regions. I'm thinking more along the lines of the Sahara, Atacama, Kalahari, etc.

Not sure if this is a terrifying Epic, a brilliant piece of meta-commentary, or a veiled cry for help. Possibly all three. I've heard that when Brandon Sanderson met Writer's Block, he simply created an entirely new fictional universe and wrote extra novels until the effects wore off.

Huh? Why would Voidgaze want to hire a guy named "The Diamond Marksman"? I just generated "The Wacky Savage," "Poor Grasshopper," "Professor Mutant," and "Doctor Mammoth Vampire." So in order, that's if Funtimes were actually a cannibal, if Cricket had grown up in poverty, if Lightwards had the Panda's power, and if Chimera read too many Twilight books before going completely insane.

Ha, that's awesome. Meeting a celebrity like that has got to be incredible... where could I go to get my picture taken with a 17th Shard moderator?

That is awesome. Moral Guardian in his natural environment; in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a small child by his side, protecting impressionable minds from questionable content.

Yes. Yes I am. By the way, it's only fair to warn you all that if Nighthound dies at the hands of Fade, then Lightwards will require a new Dragon to serve as his lieutenant. This will likely mean progressively darker Aldo scenes. Sam and Angel would probably get along well, actually. They both had their families torn apart by Epics, though in slightly different ways. If Sam met her, she'd try to talk her mother into officially adopting her into their bakery business.

That is a fair point. We should really return to Operation Motorcycle Cannon. By the way, I support Sam being present when Timeport dies, so she can give Angel Zoe Finch a high-five.

I'm torn between the desire to have Sam meet Timeport so she can start mocking him, and my firm knowledge that there would be no conceivable way for her to survive the encounter. "Dear Princess Celestia. Today I learned that while unicorn magic can be used quite effectively in a military setting, sometimes there's simply no beating the thrill of wielding an enormous bladed melee weapon. Your faithful and victorious student, Twilight Sparkle."

Timeport definitely strikes me as the type who would name his battle-axe. I love the name generators on that site, though. I'm already trying to think of convoluted scenarios in which I would get to use the name "Gaslond," from the random city name generator. It's disturbing how well I can imagine Timeport referring to his axe as "his lady." Though I warn that many childish limericks about Timeport sitting in a tree with his "beloved" would be written by Sam. Well out of his range of hearing, of course. I got "Twilight's Ivory Greataxe." I'm not sure whether the mental image of Twilight Sparkle wielding a greataxe is hilarious or terrifying.
