  1. I never saw that one. Care to share a link?
  2. Ah, yes. The ol' Shallan/Adolin/Sadeas triangle.
  3. Yes, but the same crossword asks for a nine letter synonym for failure. The only canon romance I'd even consider would be a harmless crush on someone close to her own age, possibly hinting at a relationship a few years later once the events of the RP are over with. Anything sexual would be out of the question--and a thirteen character synonym for sexual is "Shiny Sparkle."
  4. "Sparkle," would be the reply. Though yeah. What's disturbing about Shiny's meta-promise about not doing anything more than cuddle until Sam's legal is the complete absence of doubt that Sam wants to do more than cuddle in the first place.
  5. One would kill her the second she started singing "First World Problems," and the other couldn't spell the word "consent" if it were included in her crossword puzzle. Welcome. I like your character concept, and would like to see her in action.
  6. Doctor Who Season 4 spoilers:
  7. I saw a pug in-person for the first time today at the veterinary clinic. I was stunned by the adorableness, even in the dire mood I was in at the time.

That wouldn't surprise me. There was a three-legged cat there that did the same thing--especially in regards to Oreo. The three-legged cat hopped straight over to Oreo's crate and helped calm him down, for which I am extremely grateful.

That's super sweet. I'm glad God sent some of the other animals to help when you needed them, because that's what it sounds like to me. .)

That is exactly what happened. :D

  8. I really don't get why so many people complain about Doctor Who--or Disney movies, for Calamity's sake--not killing off enough major characters. Loss sucks. Reality sucks. Sometimes it's good to read a book that can prepare you for the bleakness of the world, but I hardly want to bawl my eyes out every time I watch a piece of wholesome family entertainment.
  9. Oh dear. She'll be in my prayers as well.
  10. Thank you both. If it's all the same to you guys I'm probably taking a forum break for today. I'm exhausted, dehydrated, and emotionally devastated, so I think I'm just gonna curl up with an MLP comic on my own for the rest of the day.
  11. My cat Oreo was paralyzed from the waist down today after being hit by a car. I just got back from the vet--we had to put him down. And the sun's beating down and the ground is rock hard so I can't even dig him a grave properly. We're still looking for a good place where we can actually bury him. I can't even describe how miserable I am right now.
  12. You make a tempting offer. But who exactly is this highest bidder? Of all your characters there are only two who would treat Sam right, and only one Sam would be comfortable around. And the threat of Aunt Rhonda is enough to control Shiny now? Good to know.
  13. It's all the same to me. I'm just here to bombard y'all with kaon beams and try to punish you for the collective sins of humanity.
  14. "Uh huh. She's not even visiting without a personal supply of [DATA EXPUNGED], so don't get any ideas." I have no intention of getting rid of Sam any time soon, but I'm curious to hear your proposition nonetheless.
  15. Alternate plant colors are fascinating. Do you have a link to this article? There are still purple plants on Earth--I've grown a few myself--but I've never heard of them being dominant at any point in Earth's history.
  16. That... is an excellent point. Very well then Sam, you live another game day. Which should account for another twelve months in our time.
  17. Oh, and a brief news update. In other news--I'm running a special on killing off snarky teenage characters.
  18. Hot sauce would be far too mild a punishment for him, if you know what I mean.
  19. It's often a very valid complaint.
  20. Will do. By the way, I think I found the song that plays in Quota's head 24 hours per day.
  21. What annoys me is the Always Chaotic Evil trope, in which every member of a race is stereotyped into exactly the same cookie-cutter format. Sometimes it's justified. Brandon Sanderson, for instance, has perfectly good reasons for portraying every last koloss as a mindless savage beast. When done right, it's fascinating to see plausible explanations for why every member of a species might display the exact same behavior. But more often, it's done only so a writer can summon up endless hordes of endless minions for adventurers to slaughter. Case in point: kobolds in Dungeons and Dragons and Dwarf Fortress game universes. They are portrayed as skulking, evil thieves in all appearances, which is held to justify acts of random murder and genocide whenever "heroes" come across their villages.
  22. This is the greatest idea in the history of ideas.
