  1. I thought it was not much better than "fine". At best, "pretty good". Of course the elementals were fake, and it sort of stretched disbelief, but sure. Even after death there's another Tony superweapon with another Spider-Man villain being a disgruntled Stark employee. Eh. It felt a bit predictable because the Mysterio reveal was obvious if anyone said "he's a villain!" There were definitely good parts, like when Spider-Man is in the illusions, and the last battle, but it wasn't nearly as good as Homecoming to me.
  2. Today, a week after our longest episode ever, here's a bit of a shorter one where we have some fun at Brandon's expense. Let's poke some fun at some things Brandon does, a lot. Like dead moms, assassination attempts, and of course, plenty of arranged marriages. We have Eric (Chaos), Ian (WeiryWriter), Ben (Overlord Jebus), and Grace (thegatorgirl). Send your Who's That Cosmere Characters to [email protected]. Not seen in this episode: three other WTCCs we had to cut since we had already done them. RIP.
  3. Everyone can now delete their own duplicate topics and posts. You do not need to Report this anymore. On "Moderation Actions" on the top of a topic, you can hit "Hide". Additionally all double posts people can also hit Hide to delete the post.
  4. The best we can find is: https://coppermind.net/wiki/Order_of_Windrunners?diff=next&oldid=79821 I couldn't find your edit anything after January of 2019 matching your description
  5. Various people do adjust their font size on posts, which could account for what you saw.
  6. It's never been Calibri. It's always been Arial. It has not changed in a very long time. On desktop you can right click on anything and say Inspect element to view its styles and you can see what font it is.
  7. Which specific page did you edit this on the Coppermind?
  8. I can call it Forum Games and Randomness.
  9. Generally this change is designed to reduce memeing in General Discussion. I placed some random chatting threads here, like all the random stuff threads.
  10. It's time for some Spiritual Mumbo Jumbo! Today we're discussing the "Spiritual properties": Connection, Identity, Fortune. We also talk about Spiritwebs. Things get weird today, as you imagine. Remember, all disciplines are one in the Spiritual Realm... Our cast today is Eric (Chaos), Ian (WeiryWriter), Evgeni (Argent), and Joshua (jofwu). Send your Who's That Cosmere Characters to [email protected]!
  11. My understanding is the CKEditor--this text editor--and Grammarly majorly do not like each other. I noticed this happened on another one of your posts. Somehow Grammarly adds so many divs that the site begins to break. It's worse than your link appears; it's actually making divs so wide that it is creating a horizontal scrollbar on it. It also disables being able to hit edit on it unless you collapse the quote. So really the appearance is the least of the issues... You should absolutely under no circumstances use Grammarly here. That, or don't quote things. I basically will have to manually go through and remove your quotes on that post as a horizontal scroll bar is not acceptable. Grammarly is generating weird things. My understanding is this a core problem with all things using CKEditor, not just Invision Power Suite.
  12. It felt like generic nonsense that isn't actually discussion. Where do you think it should go? I'd describe this as game... adjacent if you will.
  13. I did. Maybe I'll get around to updating them before Stormlight 4, but I might wait until afterwards.
  14. You know what you need in life? Spiritual Mumbo Jumbo, and it's time we delivered. This time we focus on a very specific aspect: Language, and how it pertains to the Connection magics that let people in the cosmere speak different languages. Think there isn't enough to talk about here? Hah, you've never seen this show. We have Eric (Chaos), Ian (WeiryWriter), Evgeni (Argent), Alyx (FeatherWriter), and Shannon (Grey)! Thanks to Alyx for editing this one. Send your Who's That Cosmere Characters to [email protected].
  15. Today, Brandon posted another update on Stormlight 4 on Reddit. He's finished Part One of the book (which is 111k words long), which, assuming the book is about 400k words long, is about 28% of the book. Brandon is modestly confident in a 2020 release date, but he did warn that if the book needs more time, he will take it. He went into a detailed analysis of word count and evaluating how he's doing in order to be done with the rough draft by January 1st, which is essential if the book would release in 2020. You can check out the numbers yourself, but he worked hard to make up some lost time, but also lost some time when he toured in Germany. (We reported that in Germany he got to write some of the Sixth of the Dusk sequel, but Stormlight writing requires a lot more focus than he do when traveling. So though he's 33k words behind what his target would be to be done January 1st, he's optimistic. Brandon's next step is to work on a revision of Part One. Though this puts him a bit more behind--just about a week's worth--it allows for his editor and the rest of the team to do an editorial pass. He did similar part-by-part revisions as he was writing Oathbringer, and the hope is that if he finishes writing the rough draft by January 1st, much of the book will have editorial feedback done, and he can hit the ground running with Draft 3 immediately. He also reiterated how Book Four has more of a Way of Kings style to it, with its three different arcs hitting climaxes at different times, rather than an enormous ending. He is doing this for some variety. But, then he said that Book Five will have an ending more like Books Two and Three. So that's where he is. As usual, we must say how amazing and fortunate we are as a fandom to follow an author who so up-front about his process. Even if Brandon doesn't hit 2020 as a release, I'm sure it'll be because he wants to make the book as good as possible. Other Novellas to be Done Before There's some other news that has fallen through the cracks before this Stormlight update came out. In the Reddit thread where Brandon confirmed the Sixth of the Dusk sequel, he also spoke how he wants to write more Stormlight novellas set in between the books. He said he's hopeful to do Rock or Rysn's novella also this year, but he'll have to see. Apparently, the Rock one "kind of needs to happen." Interesting! Brandon said the Rock novella would be post-Oathbringer, with him returning to his homeland. Brandon also said a Lopen novella would be set between Books One and Two, done "someday soon." Brandon "the many projects" Sanderson at work, folks. Fan Art Policy Update Recently, Dragonsteel updated their fan art policy, and made it easier to find. Now you can find it on Brandonsanderson.com under About Brandon, but here's the direct link. Check it out and if you have any questions, email [email protected].
  16. Games now go in the Forum Game section. Thanks! Have fun!
  17. The signature changes aren't retroactive. Ene's uses the default font.
  18. It's not like double posting is the biggest thing ever; just be cognizant of this and don't overdo it. If it happens occasionally due to the quoting issue that is not the worst, but if you respond with five posts in five minutes, all one after another, maybe use Multiquote instead. That's not good. An occasional double post due to quoting? Who cares. I do realize copying quotes is very annoying with the editor. It was much easier without the fancy text editor because it was all code that was trivial to copy and paste.
  19. I am moving this into Cosmere Discussion. The Arcanum Discussion board is for discussing Arcanum, the Brandon Sanderson Archive, not book discussion.
  20. Tell me a good use case for why you would want to do such a thing. I think the answer should be no. You really don't want people spamming any thread with five posts in less than ten minutes when they could have just made it into one post. That's a can of worms there. I see no evidence of it being edited to my knowledge. I don't know.
  21. Hi jjreeder, thanks for posting! I removed a few duplicate topics. Make sure you don't hit "Submit" more than once though I know sometimes it takes some amount of time for the thing to actually post. It's kinda weird. My favorite Shards would be Ruin or Odium, to be honest. I mean, who hasn't wanted to be destructive when you're angry?
  22. Hi, I am moving this to Stormlight Archive, as 17th Shard Discussion is for discussing the website itself.
  23. I imagine if they are here they are here for all variety of nonsense and silliness
  24. Totally fine, this is totally different from intro threads.
