The admin team will be dealing with this shortly. Please carry on with respectful discussion.

Not even beta. Maybe his alpha readers.

Take care of yourself, Matt And I will see you soon! Good luck!

The released information on Liar of Partinel is publically available and you may discuss that in Cosmere Theories, as has happened before. If you are one of the extremely rare people who has the whole manuscript--and very, very few people are--I am afraid you would have no one to talk to.
-
I would say this would be on Cosmere Theories level. If people care enough to read unpublished stuff they will be up to date on the published stuff. I will adjust this in the rules to make this clear. Great addition

Forum for General Cosmere discussion?
Chaos replied to Paladin Brewer's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
We may consider changing the title of that board to Cosmere Discussion. -
Guild Wars 2 is an MMO! Hearthstone forced me to play WoW for a bit to get an alternate hero skin, and man... I had never played WoW, but god I hated every second of it. Made me really like the quality of life in Guild Wars 2.
-
My main is Guardian. I have all classes at 80 and geared: All characters are in full ascended armor (just finished my 12th set of it today!), with all the important weapons. But I don't spread love to my alts evenly. I play on most everything in dungeons/raids except Mesmer and Ranger. Thief used to be in that category but Condi Thief is kind of hilarious and pretty good.

How am I supposed to be on 17S and play Guild Wars 2 if I go outside! Sacrilege Their extreme open world nature actually makes them quite unappealing to me. It also doesn't help they are designed to be in first person. I don't know. I've actually never had any desire to play those Bethesda games. I have also heard they lack depth. Hey, I thought I was the dictator here... Unlimited power? I mean it isn't really that hard to cyberstalk me--my name is in Brandon's acknowledgements--but it's pretty standard nerd fare

I mean, seems pretty clear that she will become a worldhopper, but that might be a story for the sequels.

I am now moving this to our White Sand forum
-
It has been a long time coming, but it is finally here. There will be some forums on Brandon's unpublished novels, where they can at last be discussed. In particular, we now have forums on the prose version of White Sand and Aether of Night. Additionally, we now have a forum that is just called White Sand, which will be the canonical graphic novel discussion board. Thus far we at 17th Shard have needed to censor people posting info from unpublished works. This was for a number of reasons. First, these books are not canonical and so basing big theoretical discussion on them was unwise and misleading. More importantly, not everyone had access to these manuscripts, and we didn't want people spoiled about the contents of these books. We will still be removing posts about the novel version of White Sand and Aether of Night in the general forum--spoiler tags will absolutely not suffice--but now they can be discussed in their respective, passworded forums. We want to make sure people can only access these boards if they actually have these manuscripts, so a password was necessary. Finding the passwords is easy, if you have the manuscript! There will be a sentence that you should word search, and the password is a case-sensitive phrase that completes the sentence. For example, for Aether of Night, the sentence is "Still, it was only an explanation for her--not for the others who had _______________." Search the sentence without quotes and the phrase that completes it will allow you into the board, where you can talk about these books to your heart's content. The prose version of White Sand has a password in the same format. Please do not distribute the passwords. Only people with these manuscripts will be allowed in. The passwords may be subject to change. You can find the Aether of Night forum at the bottom of Cosmere Discussion, under Unpublished Works. The White Sand (Prose) forum, however, will be a subforum of the canonical, graphic novel White Sand forum. Because White Sand is being published, after a fashion, we need to discuss this unusual split. The Split of the White Sand Forums The initial intention was, of course, to have the White Sand (Prose) forum to be under Unpublished Works. But the first volume of the White Sand graphic novel is coming this summer, so we have made a board simply called "White Sand" to discuss that. The main White Sand board will only allow discussion of that canonical graphic novel. This means we are going to have a rather strange split. Those who have the prose version of White Sand will read the graphic novel White Sand and want to compare the two. That volume of the graphic novel will just be one of three volumes that talk about the events of the novel White Sand. They beg to be compared. However, if you don't have the manuscript of White Sand, it would kind of suck for the ending to be spoiled if you just read the first installment of the graphic novel. What we must do, then, is only allow discussion on the graphic novel in the main White Sand board. Any information that comes from the prose version of White Sand will not be allowed there (spoiler tags are not sufficient!). This means to compare the two versions, you will need to go into the passworded White Sand (Prose) forum. I know this is going to be awkward, and maybe we wll come up with a better solution later, but this will do for now. There may or may not be additional forums on other unpublished novels, but comparatively, a lot more people have these two manuscripts, so we thought it was appropriate to start here. Happy discussion!

That's awesome! What will your major be? I suppose. Yeah, I guess that's valid. I was happy the other day. In one of our food courts, the girl who always takes my lunch order was totally astounded that I was actually a professor, and not any kind of student. So I guess I can pass for it.

This is the forum where--finally--you can discuss the unpublished manuscript, Aether of Night. I'm very sorry we have to password this forum. That is so we must not discuss this content outside of this board. This is for a number of reasons. First, this content is not even necessarily canonical at all. If it gets published, who knows what form it will take. Therefore it obviously is a bad idea to have theory content in the main theory boards when this isn't even necessarily true. Secondly, some don't have this content, and some people get extremely upset seeing discussion on a topic that they are "missing out" on and really lay on the hate. Let's just keep it here. For this reason the main rule--besides not talking about this stuff elsewhere--will be to not distribute the password unless they have the manuscript. If they have the manuscript, they can word search the password. I do not want to hear of people getting access to this board unless they have and read Aether of Night. Also, as should be obvious from Team Sanderson's distribution emails, don't hand out Aether of Night either! Sorry. They can go ask Team Sanderson directly. Thanks and sorry it has taken so long for this to exist.

Posting BoM/ Secret History spoilers in the main board
Chaos replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
Soon, yes. We will get on that this month. These are generally loose guidelines and I don't hit them exactly. But yes. -
Will try and reproduce. Those are my daily drivers and I have not encountered this.
-
I haven't heard of this. Browser, OS version? This will probably just inherently be fixed with the big site update very soon.

Random Stuff VIII: The Admin Special
Chaos replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Oooo, that's an excellent blank card. Usually when people do those they suck, but that one is really good. Apples to Apples is boring and less funny compared with the hilarity of CaH.- 1963 replies

Random Stuff VIII: The Admin Special
Chaos replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
We played Cards Against Humanity when camping at the Words of Radiance release. Alyx's first time playing it. It was a ton of fun and we were far too loud for other people in tents. Josh did need to take out some cards for BYU, so that was a thing, but it was still a lot of fun.- 1963 replies

When I taught Precalculus I only expected people to memorize some. The sin(a/2) would not be one of those.

Right now, very low because it's early in the season. Though I haven't played much in the past two months. Ladder isn't super exciting. I've gotten to rank 5 before. I play midrange druid the most. I played it since GvG and it's pretty cool, though in the current refined list is broken. I also have played midrange pally, control warrior, and zoo. I like winning on ladder That said, Randuin is a lot of fun. It seems like a ton of writing. I have no time for that. As someone who has taught Calc 1 for, say, seven sections, I'm going to go with Calc 1. Not a fan of intro linear algebra. Last time I did linear algebra there were no matrices I guess but I generally would expect people to think it weird that a professor would join them.

Absolutely it shouldn't be in articles, in my opinion.

I don't have much opportunity to play board games in person. But when I visit Josh and Mi'ch in May, we intend to play a lot of Secret Hitler. I want to play more board games. Video games, I like RPGs and strategy games. If I have a lot of time, I play Guild Wars 2. Otherwise, Hearthstone (very strategic, actually). I'm also playing Fire Emblem Fates now. Bravely Default sequel comes in a week, too! Sadly, Fates is not hooking me nearly me as much as Fire Emblem Awakening did, and I worry Bravely Second won't be the same, either. (I actually know Bravely Second is worse, because the soundtrack isn't nearly good...)
