Well if we knew who the sage was we should just kill them, and I don't think we'll learn anything else useful rolewise from Araris no matter what. If Araris is the sage he can't claim anything else. If he's a commoner he can prove it whenever he wants by saying someone other than Matrim is the Keymaster, in which case he never had any useful information. If Araris is the sacrifice, he also won't claim anyone else as the Keymaster so he can keep up a sage claim. If he's the Keymaster, we're better off hearing that from the actual sage.
