I may have accidentally called the Ghostblood's motivations two and a half years ago (Mistborn Era 3 speculation)

A few years back I posted a topic about the conflux stories, and Roshar's relation to them, here:

In that post, I said the following:

Quote

Mistborn Era 3 will be set in the equivalent of the 1980's, with a cold war, covert operations, early computers, and new interactions of the metallic arts possibly even being computers. And yet Elantris needs to be written first. And with the established build up, I wouldn't be surprised if Mistborn Era 3 involved some corporation stealing magic from other Cosmere worlds, bringing them to Scadrial for profit or war. Maybe even bringing metals from other shards. Era 3 takes place after Stormlight 10, at least it is implied to, and some relation between this era and Elantris's series is implied. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends with a space program in the works, using the metallic arts and whatever other metals they have brought used to power it. Something I think Ruin and Preservation intended.

Who else thinks this might actually relate to Mistborn Era 3, that the Ghostbloods are going to be players on Scadrial pushing their technologies further with the magic systems they acquired, along with Stormlight and the metals they've been able to gather - remember, Mraize gave Shallan a raysium dagger.

Set vs ghostbloods is going to be sweet.

Unless they’re the same group

Highly unlikely, considering the Set plans to destroy Scadrial.

I’m pretty sure this is already ongoing. I’m not sure the Set knows it yet though. I think Kell is playing both sides while setting up his own endgame.

I need TLM already! We need to see him again and figure out what he’s up to!

Well, Kel’s main goal is to find a way to get off Scadrial right? I can see an insane Kelsier coming to the conclusion that “if the planet is gone, I can’t be tied to it anymore!”

probably not

but what if

There is no reason to believe Kelsier is any more insane now than he was 350 odd years ago. His actions thus far have been entirely in character for the man we knew.

... So, pretty insane then?

Well, Kelsier is looking to get out of Scadrial, but that doesn't take away from the fact that one of his goals is to protect the planet

Exactly. At this point in time, Kelsier is still pretty much the same as we've seen on TFE and SH, there would be no reason to think that he's unstable and crazy for being a CS (like the Fused and Heralds) since he's basically only lived 5% of the time that the Heralds and Fused

Good math skills there! I got 4.666666667% on my calculator.

Exactly. But only in the way he was at the end of Secret History. Not herald level unstable.

Fair enough :-P

Also most of the Herald's madness doesn't even come from them living as CSs but from them suffering as CSs and Kelsier's life was probably serval orders of magnitude better than the Heralds or Fuseds ones

Yep, crappy as his life was it wasn’t as bad as being tortured for decades/centuries at a time (millennia for Taln) on Braize, a literal hellfire planet.

I always thought most of their insanity is due to the degradation of Investiture required to sustain CSness or a weakened Connection due to Honor's death. This is why local Radiant Ideal acceptance gives them some lucid time: the weakened Connection due to Honor's death is temporarily strengthened by the "level up" of the Radiant.

Quite a lot of the Fused are drooling idiots, literally. And their god had not died, when they worsened to that level. Nor does it explain the wide disparaty of functionality we see among the Heralds.
