“We are Connecting. Our choices are our own, as are theirs. They are simply aware of us on some level, but they do not know it. It is the nature of writers, Connecting to what could be or might have been.

“Have you never heard an author describe their characters as talking to them? Didn’t Brandon say of Master Thaidakar that “he doesn’t listen to me. He does what he wants?” When an author instinctively knows their character’s will, it is because they have Connected with the person the character is.”

"Oh, yeah. Kings says that a lot, too."

My sister thinks I'm crazy right now. I'm laughing way to much. My chest hurts. :D

There was a knock at the door.

Hoblim probably should comment on this... But he's kind of unaware to his surroundings right now. Bother that.

And you're discussing all the cool stuff without me! My problem, I guess.

This is a thing I do. I do it when the phone rings, too.

The mailman couldn't hear, and therefore didn't respond. "I'll get it." She put down her rubix cube, and got up.

She walked over, and opened the door. "Hi!"

"I have a package for Lilliana Collins."

"That's me."

"Oh. Well, here." He handed her the package. It was heavy.

"Thank you." She then closed the door with her foot, and walked back. "Geez. This is Heavy! What's in this thing? A pile of bricks?"

“Do not answer,” Fuilles said coldly. “No wonder you died so fast.” She headed to the door, Braiser behind her. Trésor readier her revolver, Fuilles opened the door, being careful not to expose herself. “Who gave you this,” she demanded.

"Okay." She put it down, and opened it. She then promptly started laughing really, really hard. She was laughing so hard, tears were coming out of her eyes.

In the box was an electron microscope. And a couple other things. Like a CD and CD player.

She died. She deserves a break.

Thanks! This feels so weird. But thank you! She was still laughing.

She’s going to die again soon then. What if it had been one of the people trying to kill them?

“That,” Trésor said firmly, “needs to be returned to its box and scanned.”

Foulles turned her crossbow on the hapless mailman. “I repeat. Who. Sent. You?”

"That's amazing!"

She calmed down enough to stop laughing, and wiped her eyes. "You don't even know the funniest part." With a huge grin on her face, she grabbed one of the CDs and looked at it. Sweet! I love these songs! "Well, I'm going to have to figure out how to get this plugged in. I will probably have to create a wall plug in, but I don't care."

The man looked at her, startled. "Whoa! I'm just doing my job. The package arrived at the post office." Lilliana noticed a note, and then carefully opened it. Please say there isn't anthrax in this. There wasn't anthrax. She burst out laughing again. "Wow. This is just getting better and better!"

Yeah... We should probably not do this that much. Maybe every once in a while when our characters really, really need help, but that's about it.

Sorry, I figured it wouldn't do too much harm.

Trésor cocked her gun, pointing it directly at Liliana. “Put it down now.”

Foullet nodded. “Who delivered it?”

@Condensation

”For traps, explosives, spyware,” Braiser answered, flairing his steel.

The note (Written with really messy handwriting):

Spoiler

Lilliana,

Hi. You don't know me, but I know you. (Kind of.) Here's the microscope you requested, along with a few things you didn't ask for. I mean, I know that was a joke, but still. Anyway, I hope you aren't too disoriented with the spike in your eye... And being on another world... And stuff. (Jeez. I am really bad at writing letters. Sorry 'bout that.) I hope you like the music I included! Who am I kidding. You'll like it.

Your counterpart (kind of)

-J

Ooo, put there a colored pen. We agreed she'd need one, right? And maybe some stuff with braille.

Lilli shouldn’t have a counterpart since she’s actually in the story. Treasure is literally me - and was in Trésor’s character sheet. This was built into her character, not something I just randomly did.

“No,” Braiser said curtly, gathering the items. “We have a place to do it.”

”Describe the one who delivered it,” Foullet demanded.

Trésor continued to point her gun at Lilliana. “Put the note down. We need to track it.”
