"I'm not sure, miss, but I know you'll be there longer if you don't come quietly."

"I--I'll go." She considered adding 'I'm just a serving girl,' but opted to leave that out. Apparently, being a servant and disobeying orders was not a good combination in this castle; Robin had made that much clear.

"The balcony, sir, a floor directly below the king's room! I was cleaning the window and all of a sudden he landed right there in front of me. I feared for my life, but all he did was jump down."

Caden spun around to a guardsman that was at his side, "marshal three squads of guards and move them to where this serving lady last saw them." He then turned to another guard, "sweep the entire courtyard and surrounding wall, she are not to escape!"

Caden pointed towards two nearby guardsmen, "come with me, we must check on the King immediately. That child will have to wait where those guardsmen left her." He then stalked down the hall with the two guardsmen trotting to keep up.

Why don't you fight back? Darrin thought. The man was trying to keep him here, wasn't he? Well, then that meant he just had to end the fight even faster. He charged his opponent, looking to wrestle the knife from his hand.

Jasper crouched down to take the charge, letting the knife drop from his hand. As the other man crashed into him, he swung upwards with his other hand to strike the assassin squarely below the jaw.

Arvis glared as he was marched down to the dungeons. What a stupid reason to be detained. His anger, however, was just a cover-up for what he really felt: fear. He could be executed, alongside his two companions. And for what? This would be no glorious battlefield death. He would die a coward and a traitor, his name to become as much a cautionary tale as Vadim, that castle guard who'd been tortured and killed. And, worse, that little girl could be die because of him.

Perhaps he could have found solace in the fact that it wasn't likely the Raveness would inflict her unholy torture upon him. He'd been following her orders after all. And yet, the thought was soiled by worry. Sure, he wouldn't fall beneath that witch's knife, but that poor little girl... He sighed hopelessly.

"Hello?" Wendy asked. "Anyone else down here?"

Though Darrin did grunt, he recovered quickly and returned to trying to wrestle the man onto the ground.

Uh... there are a lot of people in the dungeons. And I doubt Arvis, Rian, and Igor would care to respond.

Hmm... perhaps they would with a little... incentive.

"I'm looking for a girl named Arabella," Wendy said, a little louder now. "She's just a kid. Please, has anyone seen her? Is she here?"

Arvis perked up. Arabella? That was the name of the girl they'd captured on Riva's account. "Who wants to know?" he asked, loud enough for the voice to hear him.

"I'm... Wendy. She's my friend. Please, if anyone's seen her..."

“She got taken by the General. I don’t know what’s happened to her, but I know they plan to question her. And the Raveness.... Well, Stars only know what that woman plans to do to her. I’m sorry.”

"The Raveness?" Wendy's breathing panicked. "You have to help me get out of here. Please, they can't... she's only eight!"

"Well... if it helps, the Raveness insisted that she shouldn't go to the dungeons. If I didn't know better, I'd think that she thought it wasn't right for a child to be locked up in here, but who knows. She's a demon, she is."

Wendy paled. "She wouldn't!"

"The woman doesn't have a soul," Igor said sadly. "She don't follow normal human morality."

Jasper punched him again, then pushed back against Darrin, knocking him off balance. "Do you happen to know a good way out of here?"

Darrin moved to grab his opponent's neck, whipping out a dagger. "You think I would have entered without an escape?" He chuckled.
