“We…. Could also share it,” Riva mumbled. She twiddled her fingers.

Caden paused again, wishing for some sort of clarity. "I'm not sure why you want that so badly."

“Well…. We’re married.” She blushed. “I don’t intend to make love to you, if that’s what you’re thinking. I just…. It’s expected of us to share a room. We might as well.”

Leina decided that she did not like latrine duty. It stank. Didn't matter if it was a noble's chamber pot or a servant's. Everyone's refuse stank. It also didn't give her any opportunities to talk to people, as no one really wanted to approach the girl carrying a bunch of crap. Not exactly the ideal job for the first day.

"You spoke of having," the general paused, "what did you say, friend?"

"Yes..." Riva whispered.

"Do friends share bedrooms?" Caden asked, a small sense of genuine curiosity entering his voice despite the overwhelming amount of skepticism.

"Rough first day you got. Real kicker, latrine duty is."

Leina shrugged. "Better than not having a job." She wrinkled her nose. "But...yeah, it's pretty...uh...crappy." Leina tried--unsuccessfully--to hide her laughter at her own really terrible pun.

I said she'd be sarcastic, but turns out, she just makes horrible puns.

Bad puns can be a form of sarcasm...right?

Brother Tomad had dressed in his his best robes, and had taken the staff of his office and gone to the Castle the next morning. A faithful Guard had let him in and given instructions on where to find the King.
