"That drugged tea placed me under your influence," Caden said, looking up only to pause, taking in her appearance for the first time since she has entered the room. "Are you . . . What?"

----

"Then let me make one thing perfectly clear," he stepped towards Allivia until he stood right before her, placing his hand on the hilt of his blade. "Turn around and leave now, or I'll toss your corpse to the swine myself."

The palace guard's heart nearly stopped at the threat, "Sergeant!" He leapt forward to try and gain the larger man's attention, "I mean, sir. That seems a little much, don't you think?"

With a single glare, the Sergeant caused the palace guardsman to stop in his tracks. "If you, a serving girl believes that she can bully her way past the King's own guards, then such a breach in security must be addressed immediately."

"Nothing," Caden said too quickly as he turned back to his meal. "What I wanted to ask you was whether or not you think I should trust you after what you pulled last night."

---

"So you haven't tasted Praetorium steel, then?" The sergeant smirked, "we take very poorly to any breach in our sense of professionalism, and if someone of lesser rank believes they can push us wherever they want, we push back."

The palace guardsman took a nervous gulp, unsure on how to proceed as he reviewed the consequences of crossing the sergeant against crossing Allivia. He hesitated.

With a clink, the sergeant's blade started to be slowly drawn from its scabbard. "How hard are you willing to push, serving girl."

Riva squared her shoulders, growing serious. "Nothing I said last night was a lie, Caden. Nothing. The serum is no deception; if anything it reveals truth. I was drinking the same tea you were. We were both open to each other."
-------
She glared at him for a moment before realizing it wouldn't be wise to do anything but back down. "Fine. I'll be leaving, then." With a swish of her skirt, she was gone.

Here's my character!

Spoiler

Name: Leina Calmori
Appearance: Medium length choppy dirty blonde hair, impish grin, 5'1," piercing brown eyes (brown eyes are typically soft, but her glare  could bore holes through iron). She has freckles, but they're very faint and only noticeable if you're close to her face. She usually wears very simple clothes that accentuate her slim but fairly curvy figure.
Details: A waitress. Dunno what else to put here.
Personality: Very, very sarcastic. If you say anything to her, you can expect a snarky response about 78% of the time. However, she can and will be serious if needed. She avoids gossip AT ALL COSTS and doesn't judge anyone until she's talked to them herself. She doesn't trust anything she hears unless it's a direct source from someone she already trusts, and even then she's likely to do a little more research before fully trusting it. She teases everyone she's close to, so once she starts teasing you, you know she accepts you. She often comes off as flirty, but the chances of her actually liking those she "flirts" with are very low, and she doesn't view it as flirting; she's just trying to be friendly.
Skills: Avoiding gossip, glaring at people, and getting to know people.

I'm thinking I'll just have her be a newly hired waitress, if that works?

"What do you really think that it achieved?" Caden made a fist with his left hand, "my thoughts are my own, and the decision on whether or not to share them will remain my own, understand?"

----

The sergeant scoffed as Allivia walked away, he then turned around to the palace guard. "Tell me everything you know about her, guardsman."

He felt a bead of sweat trickle down his brow, "I don't think that's a terribly good idea, uh, sir."

"I disagree," the sergeant regarded the man that stood before him distastefully, "and I think our commanding officer will as well."

Riva opened her mouth to defend herself, then paused. After a moment, she sighed and walked forward, sitting on Caden's desktop. "I had hoped it would achieve some sort of relationship. But I was wrong. So, look, here I am admitting my wrong-doing, and offering you your room back. Still think I'm a witch?" She smiled at him faintly.

"It's still on the table," Caden mumbled to himself without looking up towards the Raveness. "If you're offering my room back, then I'm expecting everything that was in there when you stole it to still be in there."

Looks nice, although I was assuming you'd be an older waitress.

Caden stopped suddenly, he didn't move or speak for a moment before looking towards Riva. "Why the Blazes would you burn my bedding?"

"Well, what else would I have done with it?" She shook her head. "Your room was hardly decorated and I spent good money redoing the place."

I mean... I'm kinda in charge of all the comings and goings in the castle, including the waitstaff and whatnot. Being the king has its perks -_-. So I'll pull you in...

"These are your quarters," the taskmaster said, gesturing to a sloppy room full of wooden bunks and wooly blankets. "You came right on time: our other newest waitress is out on medical leave, so you can take her job for today." She pushed a bucket into her hands. "Latrine duty."

Leina bit her lip before a sarcastic response slipped out. She didn't want to get on the taskmaster's bad side on her first day. That could wait until tomorrow. Instead, she forced a smile onto her face. "Thanks! Where do I start?"

"Well... would you like to see for yourself?"

"How far did you take it?" Caden needed to know how much of a dismal dungeon she had turned it into before she went anywhere near it, but knowing how persistently annoying the Raveness was, he doubted he would get a straight answer.

"Up the stairs, third door on the right. If you're lucky the nobles will've emptied their own chamber pots into the pit by now."

Leina chuckled. "How very...noble of them." She grinned and scampered off before the taskmaster could respond to her terrible pun.

“Well, there are flowers now, and art, and actual furniture. It looked like a dungeon when I first got there! Honestly, how can anyone live in such Spartan conditions?!”

"To avoid spending wealth on unnecessary decorations," Caden told her matter-of-factly.

"Ack." Wendy announced.

The medic sighed. "Y'know... as painful as I know concussions to be, it'd be nice if you could stop grunting all the time."

"Oh I'm sorry." She replied, plastering on a smile. "Is there another way you'd prefer I express my perpetual agony? 'Woe is me; stars only know my pain,' perhaps?"

"I don't..." Sighing again, the medic applied a damp cloth to Wendy's forehead. "I guess I signed up for this job. Just try not to be too loud if I end up having to operate on anybody okay?"

Wendy cautiously rested her head back on the pillow. "Y'know, I'm not usually this salty. Do concussions make people sassier?"

"Any persistent feeling causes irritation and irritation leads to sensitivity, so I'd say yes."

"Oh goody," Wendy sighed. "Ack."
