“Oh, fine, fine.” She rolled her eyes, then gestured to the room beside them. “well, you tell me, is it to your liking?”

Caden wrinkled his nose at the numerous artworks that lined the wall, "Brambilla paintings next to Toussaint was not a good choice." He walked straight towards the portraits, practically forgetting about Riva for a moment as he inspected them.

“Well, you’re allowed to move things about.” She walked around, hands behind her back. “Daku decorated, not me.”

[The Ward's Guard he/him]

He nodded, distracted as he mumbled almost incoherently under his breath before finally turning around to study the rest of the room. "It is acceptable, I suppose. No one other than ourselves enters this room, anyways." He glanced towards the dresser where Riva had found the journal, but tried and failed to make it discrete. He cleared his throat, "now, what did you do with my personal things that you found in here."

“Some things I burned. Like the bedding and old curtains. But most are exactly where they were left.”

"Very well, then." He nodded towards the bed, "I intend to take the bed tonight, and I have another place for you to sleep if you choose it."

“But aren’t we sharing?”

"I thought- Just the room, not the bed, correct?"

“No.” She looked at him with puppy eyes. “I like the bed.”

"Which you had last night, and the night before," Caden stated, visibly unmoved by the puppy eyes. "I intend to sleep in it tonight, as it has been too long. "

“Well we can share it! That’s that’s the whole point.”

"Sleeping with someone else in the same bed," Caden stated, watching Riva skeptically. "I do not believe that is a wise idea."

“What, are you worried I’d kill you?”

"No, but I don't have a," he paused, trying to find the best way to state his thoughts. He almost wished for that potion again, almost. "I don't have a regular 'sleep schedule,' as numerous folk have told me."

She shrugged. “So? I go to sleep rather late. I don’t think we’d sleep at the same time, that’s what I expected.”

"Then what is the point?" Caden furrowed his brow and looked towards the floor, puzzling over the words.

“The point is to be okay with each other’s prescience.”
