I missed your post:ph34r:

The Linchpin spike is probably something found in history books, and there’s no known reason for it to always be in the back beside “TLR wanted it decently accessible” so Adilie is not convinced, also people are not always “rational”

Also the way to use hemalurgy is basically “kill someone while wanting to steal x” so you can’t really know the theory without knowing how to do hemalurgy :)

"As I said, I do NOT want to kill anyone, or tear their souls out of their bodies! I just want to know how this works. I mean, if someone wants to kill me with it, I think it is even more important that I understand it. Although, I would be interested in it either way..."

Actually, Hemalurgy is a lot more complicated than that. It’s about Bindpoints, which are very complex. And you need to know what you’re stealing, which metals to use, etc. Also, it seems Harmony did a very good job of hiding the existence of Hemalurgy, so it only gets a brief mention in the WoF and no where else.

Except for what Spook and a certain not-so-dead meddler wrote up, that is.

"Hemalurgy can give you Allomancy," Marie said coolly, still scanning the room, keeping track of its inhabitants. "Allomancy, Feruchemy. More powers than a Twinborn, and you can choose what you get if you like."

She hadn't - she could still remember the horror of being ambushed, the ritual carried out, the other Inquisitors exulting, the pain and the fear and how metal and blood tasted the same, really, when you got down to it...

She shook her head to herself. She had these powers now, and she was grateful for them, and for those she'd served before Harmony. "It's useful, if you don't mind a little mess, don't mind taking an enemy or someone off the street out of the world. And why would you, if you don't know them?"

She glared at the collection of blues that made up Adilie. "Sure, it opens you up to being controlled, but mortals are imperfect."

“Can give other things too,” Eryn noted. “But more damage to soul. Strength. Sight. Speed. Connection.”

Like the Sovereign’s eye, or so Eryn believed. It was her theory anyway. Her master didn’t often give answers to questions like that, just enough knowledge that they could figure it out for themselves. He challenged them, pushing them to discover. The answers were out there; they just had to find them.

There was always another secret.

“Both. Depends on Intent. And metal. And placement. Need to know much to do these things.”

"Just to know how much this planet's main religion is a scam, how many people did the Survivor kill to know how to use this art?"

She tried to take the assassin's spike "And what could this spike steal? It looks like tin, or pewter"

She took the assassin's spike "And what could this spike steal?" It was of a lighter in colour than steel but to heavy to be aluminium "Is it tin? pewter?"

"He came into the village to find me. I think it probably is whatever can steal feruchemical steel. Tin-eyes are relatively common, and most of those would be easier to get to. Steel-runners however, are fairly rare. Unless there is a way to steal both. But based on the other metallic arts, I don't think that is likely."

Eryn is holding the Assassin’s spike. Please edit. (Sorry, got confused. I didn’t PM you. Please ignore this.)

Eryn frowned. “Sovereign died, survived, became god, then gave to his daughter. This in Ett’s book, ja?

“And art can be studied without use and there are bad men. Matter how they are killed?Sovereign learn much when he is god. More later.”

Eryn pulled back, preventing the scholar woman from taking the spike. “Tin take senses. Pewter take physical storing power.”

Yeah, same.

"Probably pewter then."

Ladashwy turned to Marie "You have a lot of spikes, right? What is it like?" Ladashwy readied her pen.

You also have the leatherbound? Aren’t they gorgeous? I’m SO MAD that I have to wait an extra year to add the Wax and Wayne ones. And I REALLY hope we can get a SH one at some point... It’ll look so nice next to the others!

For a second I thought Eryn had pulled the chart out and I was going to comment on the "might steal destiny part"^^

Ditto. The only other one I want is Warbreaker. Mostly because it’s purple.

I actually just got lucky, and found them at a thrift store. I have no idea why anyone would get rid of them. I'm glad they did. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to afford them. (at least not yet.)

I know, right! I had the mass marketing paperbacks (when I bought them I didn't know if I was going to like them, because they were the first Brandon Sanderson books I had read) so that was an awesome find! And the best part is that they cost $100 TOTAL!!!!! I saved $200.
