Cara took a couple of deep breaths, barely restraining from crying. When she composed herself somewhat, she said, "Upstairs, near the library."

Cara sighed, "Minuet is leaving because she thinks that we don't need her anymore. Ara is going with her to make sure that she is okay. They're leaving soon with Xeus." 

Cara turned to leave again.

Upon hearing his name called, Ni turned to look at Cara. Having used one of the chairs surrounding a small wooden table in the corner of the room, the small boy had climbed on top of the wooden surface to look down at the shattered mess across the floor. Guessing it was time to leave now though, Ni sat on the edge of the table before sliding forward, his feet landing on the scattered rubble across the floor with a grinding crunch.

Taking a few steps toward the door, the quiet child abruptly paused. Returning back to the table, Ni grabbed a small ceramic plate from off the tabletop before making his way once again towards Cara and the exit.

As he passed the center of the room though, Ni stopped in front of the strange man that Cara had been speaking with. After hesitating for a moment, Ni lowered his head as he reached out and handed the tall man the fragile plate. Then, without a word or gesture, the small child continued towards the door.

Orpheus took the plate from Ni and felt the darkness that resided within him, that drove him to his anger, retreat slightly. Where had that mysterious boy come from? And why had he made such a mess? He hoped Val wouldn't be too mad he had smashed some old dishware.

"I... I must say goodbye. To them."

He moved to leave through the door with them and to find Minuet, Ara... and Xeus, he supposed.

Exodus's patience was just about over with with Avren. He grabbed the boy's wrists in quick motion and sent a jolt of energy through to him.

"Avren, please. Pay attention. Your life could be at stake."

Cara cocked her head slightly when she saw Ni giving Orpheus a plate.

Cara let Orpheus pass. Sighing, she walked back into the room to clean up the mess. All of those sharp edges were dangerous to just leave there. She found a broom and dustpan and started sweeping up the shattered pieces.

Standing just inside the doorway, Ni watched as the strange man began slowly walking up the stairway towards the floors above. The man had mentioned there were others nearby, and possibly even a dragon upstairs too? Curious, Ni was about to follow the man up the steps.

Glancing back into the room though, Ni watched as Cara started working to clear up the tattered room. Turning to look up the stairway, then back at Cara, then up the stairway once more, Ni stepped back into the basement before moving towards a different section of the room.

Picking up a small pot that had been smashed, Ni looked around the room for a place to put it away. Seeing a protrusion of metal sticking out from the wall above him though, Ni quickly ran towards the table he had climbed earlier. Placing the pot on one of the chairs surrounding it, Ni pulled the chair across the room, the wooden legs grinding a loud echo across the stone as he positioned the seat just below the oddly shaped hook in the wall.

Climbing the chair then grabbing the pot that he had placed on it moments before, Ni reached up on his toes as he hung the mangled pot onto an unlit candle sconce.

Leaping towards the other side of the room, Ni, the chair, and the tarnished pot all crashed to the ground in a symphony of clatter and chaos.

Clambering across the room, the small child slid across the messy floor before disappearing under the wooden table from earlier, managing to knock over only one of the other chairs positioned around the table as he did so.

After the noise settled, Ni hesitantly poked his masked head out from the far side of the table, looking over at the new person in the doorway.

Avren startled at the sudden contact, and reflexively tried to pull his hands away. He wasn’t fast enough, and a strange jolt of energy passed through him. He gasped, then whirled around to face Xeus, an uncharacteristic mix of shock and anger in his expression. 

His life could be at stake? Xeus thought he could use that to convince him? Avren could almost laugh. His life hadn’t been his own since he had discovered what he could do. 

Are you going to let that define you? 

Ren’s voice. 

He wavered, and soon that rush of emotion began to slip away, fear eagerly tightening its claws around him once more. Wherever safe was, it was away from Xeus. 

He took a few cautious steps back, boots crunching in the snow, and wondered how far he’d be able to run.

You can. I'm biased against it, though, from two reasons: a. I am the SPUCE here, and another character means it'll be harder to keep track. b. I really liked the Journey to the Cosmere RP's idea, and it seems to be kind of dyingg (though maybe I'm just impatient), so I fear that you joining here would slow it even further.

But seriously - feel free to join! No one will be against it, I'm sure. You better be careful with magic stuff, though, because we now have Realmatics and stuff. We are around a tower in the middle of nowhere right now, and just about to split up. You decide how to introduce your character!
