So, I was wondering what would happen if a color blind person were to heal using stormlight (or other ways like f-gold)

They would change to how they see themself. Well, if they see themself as duller or different in color than a normal person, would their skin and hair change color?
just a weird thought.

not likely, you would have to preceive yourself able to see color, and if you don't know what the color looks like....

that might be hard.

Something science can heal but Stormlight can't

that is very intresting good point.

Not everything gets solved by magic.

A little something i learned, reading fantasy. Key fact.

Actually, your perception of yourself would have little or no effect on what can be healed. Perception matters for what cannot be healed. You would have to actually not be colorblind in your spiritual aspect. Which means that simply healing that way would be impossible.

so, I may be wrong and I am misinterpreting the posts, but it seems like the posts are discussing if the vision would heal to normal vision. I was trying to ask about what would happen to the rest of the body.

Whether or not it heals colorblindness is important for what It may do t the rest of the body, as being able to see color will definitely change your perception.

Colorblind means colors look different not that you can't see them at all. So yes I think this would happen as your spiritual perception would mean that you would think that color doesn't exist so you could theoretically change colors.

I'm not sure about that. I mean, you'd theoretically be aware that colors exist, right? If a blind person used stormlight healing, would they just turn invisible?

Also, we know that Renarin used to wear glasses, and it healed his eyes - despite him likely never having seen through perfect vision. Healing vision with stormlight is certainly possible - and it didn't result in him looking blurry.

This is where I question the limits of perception impacting healing. Yeah, it clearly does. But healing is not a cognitive power. Ultimately when you heal, you are healing from a spiritual ideal of yourself. Your perception seems to allow you to muddy that ideal with things like scars or some disabilities, but if healing were absolutely based on perception, only doctors could heal themselves as they're the only ones who have any idea what things like their internal structure should really look like. I don't know that we should assume that the spiritual "fills in the gaps" of your self-perception, rather it seems that it is the perception that interferes with what otherwise would be a perfect healing. But I feel like that perception has to be pretty dang big to have any kind of impact at all. It essentially has to be part of your Identity. I know a couple colorblind people, and none of them would describe that as part of who they are, just something they experience. Or for my own Renarin-esque example, I wear contacts, but that's not an important fact to me, its just something I do. If I woke up one morning and could suddenly see perfectly, I'd be grateful, but it wouldn't change who I am. Because it wouldn't change how I think of myself, I imagine my eyesight would be healed by stormlight.

Why can’t I stop laughing at Renarin the blurry blob walking around, completely unaware anything is wrong.
