Popular Post ginger_reckoning Posted November 10, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2020 I can see why Brandon was so excited about the epilogue on this one. Wit's free-style rap was pretty epic. 34

Ramona Tehradin she/her Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Also, what about that scene where Kaladin finally finds Wit's flute back and brings Fused into melodic submission! 5

I loved that part. So cool that such a minor subplot would play out in such a big way. I wonder what's gonna happen in book 5, though, with all the fused surrendered already... 2

That might be what Jasnah is saying, but I don't believe it for a moment. I think she is lying to everyone in order to make Kaladin have to marry her and become king of Alethkar. Now that everyone knows that he is the son of Tanavast, it'd add a lot of stability to her rule, which she desperately needs with Elhokar coming back and all. Edited November 10, 2020 by Gderu 33
Subvisual Haze Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 The viral campaign to #cancelodium and deplatform him from the spanreed network felt out of place and ultimately pointless. 16
TMC29ZX Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 But why did Harmony suddenly show up and give us the info dump about the Shattering? 5
Popular Post LuckyJim Posted November 10, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2020 The best part was probably when Sigzil and the other Windrunners went to confront Taravangian after they found out about his dealings with Odium. Sigzil: In the name of the allied coalition of Roshar, you're under arrest, king Taravangian. Taravangian: Are you threatening me, Radiant Sigzil? Sigzil: The coalition will decide your fate. Taravangian: I am the coalition. Sigzil: Not yet. Taravangian: It's treason then. 44
+Bliev she/her Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 I would never have guessed Shallan's secret--she's really a Sleepless? No wonder she had so many personalities. She's made up of thousands of hordelings after all. I am a bit surprised that Adolin didn't figure that out sooner though... 16
Popular Post wheelbarrow he/him Posted November 10, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2020 Ok, but you can’t lie, Rlain’s dance battle for the fate of the Listeners was pretty great. I was not expecting him to start breakdancing in the middle of the highstorm, that’s for sure. Looking back though, the foreshadowing was all there. Brandon got us again! 26

It seems so obvious now: "The Rhythm of War"....of course it would end in a dance battle. I can't believe I didn't see it earlier 25
Ramona Tehradin she/her Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 (edited) Stormfather and Nightwatcer patching their shaky relationship making Odium heartbroken and eventually....broken aka splintered. Edited November 10, 2020 by RamonaTehradin 2
Ramona Tehradin she/her Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 One more xD: When seize of Urithiru occurs, Kaladin will charge riding Gallant, Dalinar's Rhyshadium screaming "Release the KRAKEN!" and then Navani would come wearing a mechanical Jaeger suit and whooos, Fused are completely fused. 3

Maybe not as a climax, but some kind of dance battle/competition in which Rlain throws DOWN 2

Yep, really Brandon hit us again with that resurrection trope. Which is sad, since Elhokar's death was pretty impactful in the first place, but it will be interesting to see how he interacts with people now that he's basically a radiant spren bonded to his son 7
Ramona Tehradin she/her Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 (edited) Everyone playing permutation-combination about Kal's 4th Ideal. Sandertwist- He's not going to swear it and become Odium's champion. Edited November 10, 2020 by RamonaTehradin 3
Subvisual Haze Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 A reproduction of Shia Labeouf's "Just Do it!" motivational speech was not what I expected for Kaladin's 4th oath, but I must admit I found it satisfying. 9
Necessary Eagle she/her Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 I was personally really annoyed about Restares. All that build-up and it turns out he's just three minks in a havah? I was expecting more. Speaking of Minks, though, I thought the bit where he accidentally conquered Tukar in the name of Herdaz was pretty funny. I know it's probably not going to happen, but I hope New Herdaz is going to actually be a thing in book five. Lopen can be their king. 10
Knight Oblivion Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 I can't believe that all that was needed to get the Fused into a civil war was giving some of them a Snickers. Can't wait to see how that plays out with the Skybreakers helping Odium's Fused. 2
NameIess Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Man, Kaladin used to be my favorite character, but him turning to Odium? That felt completely out of character. I'm disappointed in Brandon, I thought he was better than that. 2
