An Emoticon Question

I dunno if this is supposed to go in 17th Shard Discussion, but here we go:

Recently it came to my awareness *cough* @Condensation *cough* that not everyone uses the  emoji the way I’ve adopted it as. What do you all use it as? What do you read it as? What was it indented for in the first place? Is it actually used to say you were ninja’d?

When I use it, it’s most of the time in response to others and saying a sort of ‘hehewhoops’ sorta thing. Or like that look like ‘why is everyone pointing at me?’ *scoots out of the room nonchalantly*

So when you see me use , it’s not because you said what I was going to. It’s because that face is the one I’m adopting right then: Umm... hehe... whoops?

Huh. I’ve never thought about this before. I think I use it to like go along with something I said, like if it’s creepy or scary.  This is interesting. I guess I also use it for saying I got Ninja-d.

All of the above, but I think I mainly use it for the same things people use the :eyes: emoji for. Sorta like an “I saw you do that”. Also, you can use it for sarcasmy stuff. Like, say I pinged someone but hid the post or something. They say “who pinged me”, I could say “Uhhhhhh I have no idea. Nope. Absolutely no idea. “

But mostly sarcasm, or to show that I’m kidding cause, ya know, that’s hard over forums. And also like a “hehe I saw you do that” like Danex said. But also sometimes to show I got an obscure reference no one else understood? Like I said, everything.

Personally, I use it for a couple of purposes. Really it depends on the context. Usually it’s because I say something that’s kinda controversial but I feel like saying it, or more of a “I say something and then realize that everyone thinks that what I just said is wrong.” Or sometimes I use it just to emphasize suspense. But mostly it just depends on context

Well, I'm sorry.

I use the ninja emoji to say a lot of things, but it's mostly when I'm being sarcastic or sneaky.

For me it's mostly a "Pay Me No Mind" when I want to lurk in a thread (and get notifications, etc) but dont have anything to contribute.
