For me, music is an escape, and I listened to 32 full days (like, 24-hour days) worth of music last year, so I think I would call that a coping mechanism. No. At a writing symposium in February, though, one of the vendors was selling emotional support dragons (as he said it, they don't identify as stuffed animals, so you can take them anywhere).
