I think they meant shorthand writing? As in what they did is a method to be able to take notes in a hurry, and later copy them properly (though the ones I know only work on paper). Now, if you simply stop using vowels in everyday life just because then it becomes a problem.

Not me, but my parents do. Ben Shapiro moved into their Florida complex recently, so they know him now. Apparently his move caused some interesting synagogue politics.

Nope.

TPBM does not drink alcohol, but regularly consumes food made with it. (A lot of French, Italian, and Japanese cooking, ala Vodka, Coq au Vin, Marsala sauce, BBQ sauces, reduction sauces, etc.  Also a lot of deserts, Caesar dressing, etc.)

I do drink alcohol. Not often at all since the most common thing around here by an extreme margin is beer and that one I do not like but I do drink. On the flip side, cooking using alcohol sounds intriguing but it's kind of a foreign concept to me. The closest I've seen firsthand is that we use alcohol to make empanadas.
