"I don't know, I only saw the shape. It looked like a serpent or something. Definitely a Yevon of some kind."

"Okay, should I try to freeze it?"

It's the KRAKEN

Well yeah

A tentacle broke from the surface of the water and latched onto the side of the boat. The boat began tipping towards that side.

"I don't care what you do, make sure it doesn't sink the ship! I'll find the captain and see if he has any weaponry equipped to deal with these things!"

"May Hitlera watch over us all as we seek to find his will, in justice and light, may it be so."

The voice sounds out from the back of the courtroom from a herald, sent before the judge to announce him. "Today, the Wandering God puts his trust in Lord Derival, who is acting as judge on behalf of the nation of Raodea."

The lord walks through the door and past the jury to his seat, a minimalist chair made out of wood. He carries a walking staff that is stylized and decorated with gold, which symbolizes Hitlera's presence. The judge's seat is opposite both the jury and both lawyer's seats, forming a triangle of the three parties.

Lord Derival is an imposing figure, more than 6 feet tall, and with ram's horns curling back behind his ears. He was a Guardian until his father died and he inherited his house, which was more than 25 years ago. Rumor has it that he won the Halcyon Festival by smashing his head through his opponent's shield. He hasn't lost any of his bulk or warrior's demeanor since then, but he has a reputation of being fair and level-headed, and his island is often cited as the most equal and diverse place to live in Raodea.

"All right, then, let's see what we have here. Are the prosecution and defense prepared?"

The prosecution attorney stood up and bowed his head to the judge, "I am ready, your honor."

The attorney was nearly 6 foot, and dressed in a fine maroon tailcoat and vest, accented by a clean white cravat around his neck. His hair was long and mostly brushed back, with his bangs parted to the sides in order to give a clear view of his face. He straightened his cuffs and glanced towards Cruz, and his facial expression began to look arrogant.

It seems that we still need our defense attorney.

Cadenza nodded and reached out toward the tentacle, encrusting it in a chunk of ice.

A screech sounds from beneath the water and more tentacles come out of the water, reaching towards the boat

Cadenza blasted two of them with ice and then reached toward the water. "I'm going to freeze the surface!"

Wait how big is this ship? I was picturing like a rowboat

Maddy shrugged of the shock of the creature by mentally began picturing what could be attached to the tentacles. That was more than enough imaginative thoughts to fuel her Aspect. She shivered. Tentacles...

I feel like we need to make something clear real quick.

Ship = Large craft meant for ocean or deep sea travel.

Boat = Everything else. Basically small craft meant for shallower waters.

Not the same thing.

I mean, I was thinking a bigger boat because this island wouldn't be right off the coast. And because of Yevon, any ship of sufficient size is going to have some weaponry to fend them off.

Primrose stood lightly, draped in mint green, a soft knee length dress, cream heels, and smooth, elegant legs.  She tossed a perfect curl over her shoulder, stepping between Cruz and the prosecution, smirking lightly with crystalline lavender lipstick.  "Ready, your honor."

"Good. The prosecution may begin with their opening remarks."

The surface froze and Cadenza wiped her forehead. "Okay, done! Get that weapon, quick!"

A hatch on the bow of the ship opened up and a cannon rose from the underbelly of the ship. Jay dashed back down to the deck. "That should do some damage if we can get the thing in its line of sight."

The ship shook again as the monster rammed it under the ice sheet. Tentacles battered at the ice from underneath.

"Maybe the ice sheet wasn't the best idea. Too late."
