So, he stood and quietly went to stand in the rain. He could charge up by absorbing the vibration of the falling droplets, anyways. It would feel good to be alone again.
Channelknight Fadran Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 She found herself drawing Scarlet, because why the heck not?
Fallapede Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Brother Sparrow emerged from the house's small kitchen bearing several steaming mugs. He noted the tense atmosphere in the room, and sought to think of a way to defuse it. "What is it that you are drawing there, Janice? Would you like some tea? And you, Vespyr?"

Knight of Iron she/they Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Quote Alright, I'm winging a bit of the court stuff, let me know if something should be different. Cruz was handcuffed again and searched, then was brought out a long ways to the court room, where took a seat next to his lawyer, Ms. Delacroix. The judge hadn't entered the room yet, and those people on the right... did they already have a jury chosen? They must really want the trial to happen quickly, the verdict may even be decided today. He tried to look his best, but he couldn't do anything about his eyes, and his hair was a bit messy. He closed his eyes in anticipation--but that brought on memories of the nightmares, so instead he examined his surroundings as best he could. @Negative_Null (judge), @ProfetessaOscura (my lawyer), @The Ward's Guard (other lawyer):

He needed to apologize. It was all his fault all those terrible things had happened to her. Of course, he also needed to admit to himself this might be a trap. The voice sounds out from the back of the courtroom from a herald, sent before the judge to announce him. "Today, the Wandering God puts his trust in Lord Derival, who is acting as judge on behalf of the nation of Raodea." The lord walks through the door and past the jury to his seat, a minimalist chair made out of wood. He carries a walking staff that is stylized and decorated with gold, which symbolizes Hitlera's presence. The judge's seat is opposite both the jury and both lawyer's seats, forming a triangle of the three parties. Lord Derival is an imposing figure, more than 6 feet tall, and with ram's horns curling back behind his ears. He was a Guardian until his father died and he inherited his house, which was more than 25 years ago. Rumor has it that he won the Halcyon Festival by smashing his head through his opponent's shield. He hasn't lost any of his bulk or warrior's demeanor since then, but he has a reputation of being fair and level-headed, and his island is often cited as the most equal and diverse place to live in Raodea. "All right, then, let's see what we have here. Are the prosecution and defense prepared?" Cruz didn't know whether to be excited or terrified that Lord Derival would be acting as judge. On one hand, he was a nobleman who actually lived up to the name (much like most of the nobleman, Cruz had come to realize) and his history of equality and diversity was on point. In some ways, the very opposite of the extremist Lord Tiago. On the other hand, Cruz was hoping for a miracle on the part of his lawyer. He honest-to-Hitlera believed he would get much less of a punishment if they knew Trace was primarily responsible for most of the deaths and terrorism. He hadn't anticipated her apparent bloodlust. But his lawyer didn't seem to think the truth would get Cruz very far, and so Cruz would have to stand trial with a lie.
