Like... her spirit's in the yevon and... you know how it is. Like Sauron's gaze or Odium's Investiture and stuff. Edited May 6, 2021 by Channelknight Fadran

She grabbed a bow and quiver of arrows off the wall, despite the fact that she'd never shot one before. How hard could it be? "What do we do? What do soldiers do in this kind of situation?" Not pick a weapon they can't use, Trace muttered to herself.

Quote I'm not trying to derail anything! I've already said that this isn't anything close to a full-scale invastion. It's just a chance for a fun battle sequence and nothing else. And Null's never online; it's not like he'll magically get that one ping.

Channelknight Fadran Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 Quote Listen, Proffie, I'm sorry that this isn't totally and completely compliant with everything you want. Neither of us can completely control what's going to happen and neither of us should control what's going to happen. Like I already said, this isn't the final battle or anything; I'll let that happen on the terms of everyone else. But in case you couldn't tell the plot wasn't really pushing itself forwards with at any respectable speed and I figured that taking a break from shopping and friendship to kill off some mindless demons would be refreshing. Also sorry if I sound irritated (it's because I am but I'm still sorry about that) Janice ran to a window and nocked an arrow. Badly. How the heck does this thing work?

Quote My issue isn't that you want to progress the plot, my issue is that you refused to communicate, and when I asked that you talk with me first about changes to the school/situation that I've done with Vespyr, you ignored that. "I'm sorry you're upset" isn't a real apology. Just... talk to me and let me know what you want to do in the future. You don't need my permission to do stuff in the game, but actually talking with the people you're playing the game with can be beneficial. Working together to build the plot helps, it really does.

At the very least I should've PMed you. But... yeah. I just tossed out a situation, and what happens is up to everyone else. Janice tried shooting an arrow. The yevon weren't within shooting distance yet, but the streets were clear and she figured she'd better get the hang of it sooner or later. The arrow, not properly centered, flung off in the wrong direction and ricocheted off the wall. Thankfully, it didn't kill anyone. "Sorry!" Janice yelped, ducking away awkwardly. @Random Bystander Quote If you wanna teach Janice how to shoot, now would be the time

He would treat the situation with deliberation and stop the younger reserves from going out. I could have given him an excuse to be out of the city, because, like you said, he either has to be a terrible person to send kids against demons, because there's no reason he would risk lives like that, or he has to be asleep/gone during the emergency. As I would play him, he would be on the front lines immediately incapacitating the Yevon. Remember that when he took this city, he literally sank a skyscraper into the earth as a power play. Talking with me, we could have planned to have a fight AND advance the plot. He might be absent and they have a fun fight scene field day, sure. OR... He might have the more experienced soldiers take out the advance party, then send a scout party to find out where the Yevon had come from. Your characters might have smuggled themselves along with the scout party, maybe with Trevor. Fight scenes are fun, but you can flesh out extra content.))

I'm more than happy to sweep him out of the way to let you guys have fun, but I'd already established that he was in the training room helping the kids/sparring with Sparrow. Letting me know to get him out of the picture puts a little less stress on me to figure out how to make his character work in a way that he isn't annoying the other players. For endgame, to take down an entity like the queen, they'll need powerful guidance.))

She pulled an arrow out of her quiver, and showed her how to hold the bow, aim it, how far to pull the string back and whatnot. She then demonstrated, hitting a bird that was flying through the air.
