Eh, the more you do the more you know thing. I was surprised the first time someone said this too but in retrospect it's really not that surprising. Everyone's good at something and not as good at others. Could you have named what tenses you were using at each point in that sentence? Probs not but I betchu Condensation could have. Did she know the operating system? Nah, but grammar she got us lapped. It's just what you put time into. Both are things you use everyday but might not know the specifics of if it's not important to direct function

No I get this but it still is surprising if people don't know things you take granted for. I wasn't being patronizing, it was just surprising.

Yeah no I totally get you, absolutely! I was just saying like I speak English every day and if you asked me to name the tenses I'd be like uh bruh I'm gonna have to get back to you on that. Yet I use it every day so I should know. People use an operating system every day but knowing the name is like the same thing. You might get the log in, do your thing, log out and just gloss over the OS name
