There's a weird disconnect here for me, because y'all and @Hmmm lies and all of the other trans girls on this thread were always girls to my subconscious brain. I can't image y'all being anything else so occasionally when you guys mention dead names its like "oh right they're all trans"

It makes sense. Us trans people are gonna present as hard as we can as we preferred gender, to a degree higher than one can do in person. Course if you knew I existed on this forum before March 16th 2024 maybe that'd be different

Everyone's dissing their deadname, honestly mine isn't bad outside of being my deadname, but it annoys me how common it is, so I feel a little pain even when it's used to refer to someone else.

In fact, often whenever I know someone's deadname, I feel weird about using it for anyone. Like the name is 'poisoned' for me.

I don't even associate my deadname with myself, even though I know multiple people with it. It's just... not me

Spoiler

nor was it ever, really. When I was first trying out names I chose Hazel as a contemporary name and it stuck like instantly because I've never actually named myself if that makes sense

I actually do wanna ask how difficult it is to like... change how you see someone especially since you have the unique experience of being an outsider here so please describe your experience(a)

Lol

I actually have four experiences with this

The first, as a 14-year-old, is part of the reason I want to strangle 14-yo me. Also another person, who was incidentally the second person, definitely wanted to strangle me when I messed up the pronouns. Which I did. A lot (this person was enby).

Second person: I had some struggle with pronouns, but not much issue with ahifting perspective. Man was already pretty masc-presenting (ish. Some complicating factors) (sidenote, this was also a two-time crush of mine, once before and once after transition, so that was an interesting duality)

Third person: actually my bi awakening, had a crush on him around the time he transitioned. Wasn't too difficult a shift, took me maybe half a month to shift my brain.

Fourth person: Izzy. Didn't take long at all, 'cause I called it before she did. Do still sometimes mes up pronouns though cause I have to use different pronouns depending on the situation.

(Why are you confusing us with this username change lol.)

(Edit: Oh wait that's a lot of you. Is this another Ookla month situation?)

Honestly love to hear it. It should in fact, make no sense, as I often question how younger me didn't realize I was a girl.

My younger self... idk. She was like, 25% there. Just liked being female where applicable (online), but didn't realize that that could include real life too until much later. And that was for years. (In fact, the shard holds a dear place in my heart because it was the first place where I tested new usernames and where I first started to be known as female online)

So uh

I have learned something really funny from my dad. Apparently crossing your legs one over another when you sit is really ‘effeminate’ and as a ‘man’ i shouldnt do that.

lol nah thats hilarious i couldn’t care less about that. Im happy with my body and all but i dont give two diamond chips whether i sit some way.
its more comfortable thats why

Me is aware of this, me neverrrrr sits uncrossed, is very unprofessional and unlady like, hmph (the unlady like part is a joke I think it’s stupid that gender can be based on how you sit)

Um

Yeahh...

I know a lot of guys who cross their legs when they sit

And honestly it's the more manly men I know that do it

As well as all the male authority figures

So...

No

At some point the entire world will wake up to the fact that true men aren’t aggressive or dominating

Huh. I do that quite a bit, and I am the most cis dude. As a cis guy, I say to your father, "You're wrong, buddy."

Yea, I sometimes try do this to cope with dysphoria. It's really weird how this has apparently become a distinction people make. Like. No. What is gender?!!!!

thats a hard question. Correct me if my understanding is wrong-
Gender is the social construct based on the original physiological binaries of the human race which we have outgrown.
