I'm not really out to anyone IRL sadly, but thanks a lot for the hugs, they are greatly appreciated *hugs*

*hugsss* do you have anyone that would be accepting of you bc I’ve found that coming out is one of the most helpful things you can do when it comes to dealing with dysphoria

*hugs* Possibly. I have a group of queer friends who I'm not out to who would probably be supportive; I'm mainly worried that they know my family too well, and my family aren't great with this kind of thing. I might try and tell the friends next time I see them, though. Thank you very very much!!! *hugs*

True, but it's also scary.

Hiiii

I'm so sorry I didn't answer this when you asked it, but I'll see what I can do.

And if anyone else has issues with dysphoria, feel free to read this as well.

So, dysphoria suuucks, I don't feel it as much as I used to, but damn used to be bad. The main things I would do to help were to put on gender-affirming clothing (I would be locked in my room) and to listen to music I enjoyed. (My most common pick was "Finale" from Undertale) Sometimes, I would just use force of will. I would talk to myself and say "I am a girl" (obviously you might have different affirmations) to myself, and stop myself from arguing.

Edit: Hawks (Are we supposed to call each other by our Ookla names? I'm not sure.), I am amazed at the coincidence that we posted our responses at the same time.

Neo, huh? Well, the Matrix is trans as hell, so it's a fine choice.

Oh that's...

Ok, here, somewhat minor spoilers for The Matrix (1999) below. (It's a great movie, so just watch it instead if you can. But don't watch the sequels, those suck.)

Spoiler

If you aren't aware of the central premise, it's that the whole world is just a simulation (this was the first popular piece of media to have such a concept), that all the humans are plugged into. Neo is the codename of the protagonist. The Matrix is viewed as a trans allegory by many. There's an iconic scene where Neo is offered the 'blue pill' or the 'red pill'. If he takes the blue pill, he'll keep living his normal life, believing the lies of the matrix. If he takes the red pill, he'll understand the truth, and be able to disconnect himself and go to the real world. I (and many others) see taking the red pill as realizing you're trans, and understanding who you really are. Meanwhile the blue pill is to stay in the egg, to keep living safe, but to stay trapped.

I myself always felt that everything felt more 'real' when I realized I was trans. Emotions were more vibrant, I cared more about myself and others, it was like that whole time, I wasn't really living.

Also The Matrix was written by twin trans sisters who realized they were trans after making the movie lmao.
