There is a chat without voice or video.

You can just use a text chat.

That’s.......the main feature of Discord. Basically the entirety of Discord is text chat. Some people will occasionally use a Voice Chat where it’s just like a group phone call, but I’ve never seen anyone use video chat. Didn’t even know that was a thing. When people think of Discord they think of text chat.

As I am now the only non-adult in my family, my siblings are always dangling their privileges over me and I just have to sit and take it.  (My seven adult siblings, mind you)

That's, a lot of siblings. Well, I can say one thing about adulthood. I was told all my childhood that as soon as I turned 18 I would spend the rest of my life missing being a kid. It's been 4 years since I turned 18 and so far that is false, there are things I miss but I wouldn't give up the freedom for anything. So basically, be happy, life gets better as it goes.

Don't expect overprotection to ever go away though, the only thing that changes in that aspect is that you are now legally allowed to ignore it.
