Gears Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Silber did mention that he didn't want the elims to get their hands on Awakening. Perhaps we have some worldhoppers among us. And sadly, Araris's item is lost to the void. Perhaps we will see it again one day. He did mention how ironic it was that he acquired it, so 'tis truly a shame that it has been unrendered.
Kasimir he/him Posted July 8, 2020 Author Posted July 8, 2020 I think I can clarify this: As mentioned before, some items will be revealed in the write-up. Some will not. There is a criterion for/qualitative difference between those that have been revealed, and those which do not get revealed in the write-up. (Or perhaps there was no item... ) 4
theTruthshaper Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Wasn't Old Guy the cosmetic role for Araris? Is this referring to that or is there something else going on here? 1

Let me put it this way: it is not an accident that Araris has his cosmetic role listed, but not Lord Silberfarben. Edited July 8, 2020 by Kasimir 2

Gears Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Augusta Christine stared at the bodies as the staff draped sheets over them. 5 litres of blood in a human body. So little, and yet the stains were everywhere. The white sheets were stained red already. She took notes for her next novel. Sheets over corpses, white fabric turned red. Vivid imagery would be required, but as a "wordsmith" [according to the Elendel Daily], she could pull it off. She moved to the lounge, scribbling on her notepad all the while.
theTruthshaper Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Alright, so Araris had created his own Cosmetic role. This implies that Our Illustrious GM created roles after everyone had already signed up. So, the roles as they are were not necessarily part of the initial game. (Even if the game would have had roles, the number and type of roles is flexible) This also probably means that Araris could access some mechanic that others could not. Does anyone know something about this? Also, should I reveal an item? As far as I can figure out, it's completely useless which also means that it is unlikely make me a target. 1

However, this is a murder mystery, and thus these clues should lead to the killer. I do not think we should reveal items unless it appears that we are going to die, as that would allow us to gain some insight on what items are revealed and what items are spontaneously deleted. Edited July 8, 2020 by Gears It turns out that [s] causes strikethrough. 1

I know this. I am just trying to push some sort of discussion forwards. Also, I am pretty sure that all the items important to the murder mystery will be revealed if we die, at least in the case of a lynch.

I look forward to gaining knowledge from this event.

Really like this idea and had suggested an actual murder mystery clues Elimination game a couple of years back, but at the risk of causing immense confusion, I do need to clarify that this is at core a Sanderson Elimination game with one extra bell and whistle And RNGesus.
theTruthshaper Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Well, I found a pek. I don't know what to do with it. Watcher stared at wonderment at the pek. While it would have been basically worthless when it was minted, few of these had survived to this day. A window into the past, this little coin contained a wealth of stories and lessons, about how advocating hate always led you down a dark path, about how you could only suppress a people so much. Lord Mistborn himself had had to save Urteau, after it had almost fallen into Ruin's hands. 1

Gears Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 I myself have found a bottle of whiskey of an unknown vintage, only half-full/empty. It tastes delicious.

theTruthshaper Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 Wait, this reminds me. We were messing around in the Lounge PM `and we found lots of spoons, a bottle of Jerzy '82 wine and water inside a vase of flowers, which Windrunner drunk. I doubt that these have any bearing in the game but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 1

Mine have died horrible painful deaths, though someone mentioned SHOUTING in the Study before its death. No one was willing to share their items, though they did share the existence of their items.
Wind he/him Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 I think the wine might be poisoned so am just not going to drink it, the water was tasty though. Could I pour someone a glass of the wine to make them test it, or would that be considered giving away my item.

Windrunner had the bright idea of looking behind the curtains and then we sort of started roleplaying which lead to discovery of items which could easily be found in a normal Lounge.

Perhaps they're intimidated by Augusta Christine's status as a famous author. Speak to me, Slytherin people in my PMs!
