"It's a military fortress, correct?"

Just now, Random Bystander said:

Are we there yet?

"Okay! And how far away would you like to be when I set them off?"

"It's a military fortress, most likely. We don't actually know where it is... or even if it exists." Ayia hopped on top of a rock and glanced around. "Fadran expects that Wyrn has fortified this entire mountain range, and our job is to find some of those fortifications and punch them in the face."

"So... not soldiers?"

"Soldiers who didn't have much of a choice. Not Wyrn, obviously, but some of the more remote people."

"Okay, first of all, you don't know if it exists? Second, who is Fadran? Third, how does one punch a fortress in the face, if it has no face?" She started burning bronze (without any feruchemy stored up. She defenetly heard something. "Also, I think it does exist."

"Very good. We'll appear very strong if we manage to succeed."

"They still fight for the enemy, and who're you to say they didn't have much of a choice? Many soldiers still consider it an honor to die for their cause."

"But we don't know until we ask! That's the thing!"

"No, we don't know that there're any fortresses up here. It'd just be kinda stupid on Wyrn's part if there weren't." Ayia grinned. "Second... Fadran's the guy in charge. Real great guy. Good-looking, too. I almost punch him in the face as much as I do fortresses, which leads me to your next question... you blow it up."

"Then what are you doing in one?"

"The first people I met needed the help of an army. This army. So I'm helping so they can be helped and maybe I can get home."

"No. I... I can hear rhythms. I'm a seeker, and can hear when people use investure. Someone is using a whole lot of investure right about there." She pointed to a spot that may have seemed random, but was where the rhythms were coming from. "I'm actually a compounder, so I don't need to sleep either. At least, not if I have enough bronze."

"Umm... okay?" Ayia squinted. "I'm not seeing anything."

"No. I need a picture of Earth to get back."

"Can you lead us to where that feeling's coming from?"

"Yes. I could lead you there fairly easily." She started walking quickly up, around, down, around again, and just kept going. She tried to take the most direct route possible.

"Well, I was hoping someone here could help me find a picture."

Ayia followed her, gesturing to the others to follow them too.

"It shouldn't take too much longer. Of course, I could be wrong and it could be Hoid or something. But then again, Hoid could point us in the right direction... Probably after insulting all of us, but still."

"I might be able to help you with that," Martin says slowly, speaking quietly.  "And... about the war, you... you're going to need to make some choices.  I'm sorry."
