"Okay."  He's doing this.  He's actually doing this.  Get it right this time, he tells himself, and begins the glyph again.  A little bit slower, but that's okay right now.  Once he's got the lines good, he can speed up.

He's doing magic.

Let's show off a bit here

The glyph Martin finished glows through the darkness, illuminating just his face and finger. "That one was a lot better. You can't tell because Andante darkened us right as you did it, but it should be brighter and a bit more steady."

Martin feels his heart skip a beat as darkness shutters the world around him, because living on a starship means that sudden darkness is very bad, and before that it meant that someone had taken out a generator, and that was just as bad, because no generator meant no cams, no backup, and on far too many occasions, getting locked in.  "Cool," he says turning his thoughts away from that.

Ayia leaped over his falling form, running at Fadran and dual-wielding metal rods. They exchanged blows with each other like they had dozens of times before, each remembering one anothers' style in muscle, though not mind. The clang of metal on metal rang out over the fields.

N'Fehn got up, and used his divine soul, launching a knife at Fadran as it formed in his hands. He also made a large shield to protect from another fireball or whatever Fadran could do.

Fadran slowed time. Only temporarily, and only long enough to gather his bearings. He ducked to the side, underneath Ayia's staff and away from the dagger. As he came into safety, he sped up time once again, striking at Ayia and hurling earthen spikes at Fehn.

"Whenever is convenient," replied Psyder. "Probably not after the fox has finished burning through those shields."

"Now, then." Herate took off running towards the fox, using her enhanced strength to lengthen her strides.

"Ok, Andante, how about you dismiss that so we can see what we're doing?"

To Martin, she says "All right, you're doing good. Practice that a couple more times and we'll try something a bit more useful. These are only useful if you can get them memorized."

Vale takes the blade. "I can do that."

"Right.  Memory."  That shouldn't be too hard.  He just has to find a distinctive line, something that looks right, and he can keep it in his head.  "Are you going to teach me more now, or later?"  He asks as he traces out the rune again.

He wavers. "I'm... not sure. I'm the last person she wants to see right now, I think. Actually, not true, but probably in the top few." He lifts his chin. "You know what, I can try one more time." At least there's some hope.

As Fadran walks away, he speaks, almost groaning. "I don't think this is a great idea, Fadran." As Fadran summons his blade, Ember sighs. "Be careful, at least."

"Could I get some help with the teleportation?"

"I guess not. I'll stay here for now, I guess? There's not much else I can do. Except prepare and get equipped."

I thought I hit submit reply...

N'Fehn dodged to the side.  Was that time altering? Q'Fadran has a time cube? N'Fehn reaches for his own and mentally commands it to reverse siphon time. Drawing time from the environment and making it warmer and brighter. The farther away from the device, the faster time went. He tossed the box at Fadran

Fresco stood on his own. Apparently he was in some kind of resistance, now. He couldn't remember anything, but he got the impression that stories usually portrayed resistances as good, so he was glad for that. But he felt... empty. Without purpose.

If only he could remember...

Wait. Had he said remember? No, something else. To... recall... to bring back from memory. To remember.

Ah, there it was again. It was a familiar word, but not in Fresco's language. Its best translation was "remember," which is why any attempt at pronouncing the word sort of sounded like that. Remember.

Could he... could he do something with this?

I don't know what's going on so I'm just going to do this.

Faddie's already stopped slowing time. He can't affect it for very long without passing out.

"You should be able to will it away. Some people find it helpful to disturb the dust, although that doesn't technically do anything. It's just a somatic tool."

I think you missed a question Martin asked.
