Essence Marks, some weapons, medical supplies, glasses, a change of clothes, some spare soulcasting things... I think that's about it. She left the papers she got from Wyrn's study in the command tent. *cough cough*

She reached out with her claws. "I'll try my hardest. By the way, I'd like to keep my bag with me."

"Whatever works for you, princess."

The marks from Herate's claws earlier had already healed, and Psyder didn't seem any more concerned with them this time.

"That's right, you heal. Question, how long does it usually take you?" Herate stepped away from Psyder, eyeing his daggers warily.

"I assume the same basic rule applies to all of your and my powers?"

"More or less," said Psyder, throwing a knife at her again.

Herate tossed it out of the way with her telekinesis. She could probably have sent it back at Psyder, but this would be fine and deprive him of a weapon.

"Too defensive," said Psyder, pulling out another knife and moving in.

You can change that, can't you?

"The best offence is a good defence." Herate smiled, shoving Psyder back with her telekinesis.

Psyder snorted, digging his feet into the ground and resisting. "Tell that to the victims of the fox."

Chrysler, placing runes around the castle, looked up at the sound of clashing claws and saw a figure leap upward into the night. She started to work more quickly

"I would if I could." Herate shoved Psyder back physically, increasing her strength.

"The portal's almost ready." Fadran said, tinkering with some random materials he had pulled from his bag. "Thank goodness Chris taught me how to work this thing... I could never figure this out on my own..."

"The sooner that we go the sooner we can  stop Wyrn and save Herate."

Jek folded his arms, sulking. "So you save Herate, but not Vapor. Not the one who's been with you longer," he muttered.

Psyder snorted. "You saw what happened to the ones who tried to defend themselves? Roasted alive, turned into nothing but ash."

“So our only hope is to flee? Because by that same argument, you could say that attacking could get you incinerated as well.”

"You sure?"

Jek sighs. "Why do you care so much about rescuing Herate? You've known me longer than her, and Vapor even longer. And yet you rescue her the instant she is in danger, while leaving Vapor in the hands of the goddess of death, saying, 'oh, she'll be fine.' What is up with that? Is Vapor not important enough to you? Why can't you rescue her?"

"The ones who attacked died because they were weak. You aren't. You have a chance at surviving, so long as you don't let it whittle," slash "you," slash "down."
