"Nice views" Emi sighs and turns to the rest of group. "What should we do now?"

"Most impressive. There is a calmness to this place. Potent magic indeed."

"Not potent enough," said Rekaerb grimly, his eyes tracking a ominously shaped figure through a shadow.

"Well, I can tell you for a fact there's nothing harmful in the lake.  So wading and swimming are perfectly safe!"  Kindness explains, changing into a slightly taller version of her female form.  "And Rekaerb, it's fine, that's just the shadow tree.  He's perfectly friendly.

"The shadow itself, certainly," said Rekaerb. "But I was talking about that."

A tiny translucent figure with tattered wings and blank white eyes drifted slowly upwards. A withergeist.

"Would someone please tell me what those are?"  Kindness asks.  She flaps her hand at the withergeist.  "And get out of here!"

"Annoying!" The sky darkens and the winds pick up. Two massive bolts of lightning strike the withergeist head on.

Dr. Gears threw a small opaque box at the withergeist. Something screamed, and something else shattered.

"Dr. Gears!"  Kindness exclaims.  "If you would like to fight the withergeist, just tell me, and I can send you and the withergeist somewhere to do so, without breaking my home!"

"Spirits of destruction," explained Rekaerb. "They venture throughout worlds, spreading blight and death wherever they go."

Pieces of the broken box fell to the ground, their edges blackened.

Little bits of sparkling shadow floated above the patch of burned ground where the withergeist had previously stood.

Rekaerb sighed. "There are better ways to take care of them, you know... ways that don't involve alerting every one of its siblings within a kilochord radius."

"That thing cost me a realm. Let its siblings come if they long to die." My body glows brightly. Light radiates off my form.

"Confident, I see," said Rekaerb, raising his eyebrows. "But I think you'll find them harder to destroy than you imagine."

"Isn't it possible to trap them in one place?"

"In theory, yes. In practice..." he shrugged. "It wouldn't exactly be practical. At least, not right now."

"We'll see. I'm not one to be trifled with. Tell me how would you deal with them?"

"I would either destroy them or leave." Vapor says. "Then again, I don't know much about them, so..."

"I concur," Kindness says.

"I would as well. If they die as easily as this one did they won't survive long."

Rekaerb shrugged. In a flash of blue light he teleported across the clearing to sit back on a convenient outcropping.

"I mean, I would run," he said. "That is, if I were worried about my own safety." He gestured towards Nath's strike. "Don't let that fool you. Withergeists are weakened by light for the most part, but only the very weakest get destroyed by it. And you've just attracted a lot more than their weakest."

" Light huh." I grin. "They'll wish that they had never been spawned!!"

“If you run, can you take me with you?” Ene asked Rekaerb, blinking at the pretty view but not willing to fight a withergeist.

"When they come they are in for a rude awakening." I lift my lightning blade and stab it into the ground. "Sasherunas Anemu Resura." The earth arcs with power for a few moments until the blade has vanished into it. "Let them come."

Not much, I’d suggest just reading the couple pages. It’s fast going.
