Doesn’t “glycosidic” means something similar to glucose? And the other one, I actually understand, because I’ve learned about it this year.
revelryintheart she/her Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Neither do I and I'm the one taking the class

revelryintheart she/her Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 (edited) As far as I can tell, it means monosaccharides (simple sugar) covalently (sharing electrons) bond to form disaccharides (simple sugar but two). Idk what condensation is or glycosidic linkages are. Edit: I miss normal Biology when it was just growing a plant and measuring its height Edited August 31, 2020 by revelryintheart
Emi she/her Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 @Condensation will be mad that you don’t know who she is... Spoiler I don’t know either.

Biology, geography, chemistry and physics came this year, in 7 class and earlier I had only science .

For 7th and 8th grade it was just science. 9th grade you could take either biology or earth science (I did biology). Then in high school there's physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, astrology, and a ton more, but only chem and physics are required. I did physics as a sophmore, chemistry last year, and I'm doing AP bio this year.

Wind he/him Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Condensation is the manifestation of water on the side of a cold glass, or something else.
Bearer of all agonies he/him Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Yeah, something like that.

Actually in biology (just looked this up lol) condensation is: a reaction in which two molecules combine to form a larger molecule, producing a small molecule such as H2O as a byproduct.
The One Ring she/her Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 I think we learned that last semester, also, we learn that in chemistry class.

Yeah a lot of what we're learning in Bio is what we learned last year in chemistry (like ionic and covalent bonds). The one ring are you in biology right now?
BreezeCauthon he/him Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 I'm in biology right now. Kinda disliking it, thought it would be more animals and less proteins/atoms/chemicals. We learn about biomes next week, though, so that might be cool.
Bearer of all agonies he/him Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 Yeah, I had biology in sixth grade. It was fun.

I really enjoy chemical biology. Edited September 1, 2020 by The_Truthwatcher

I'm taking CE Chemistry this year.
